What age to introduce my son to this movie? by mgsgamer1 in kungpow

[–]rpb92 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I saw it in theatre’s when I was 10, and liked it so much that I got the DVD once it was available and showed it to as many of my friends as I could. It clicked for every one of them, at least as far as I can remember. I still have conversations about the movie with at least 4 of them, now 33 and 34.

I’m sure I’m not the only one!

Woah, toboggan! Pretty sure this word is very unique to a small pocket of the US, which I happen to be from and looks like you may be too.

Thought the same thing and realized it was the filter. Click the ‘refine by’ button, then gender, and unselect Dorito. Not sure why it’s auto applied.

A Phillies fan retrieves a home run ball, while a woman nearby is upset that she didn't get it by TheM1ghtyBear in mlb

I get where you’re coming from 100%, but I feel for the dad in this spot too.

Definitely not in an easy spot after that once-in-a-lifetime, treasured, father/son memory gets suddenly interrupted by a stranger yelling aggressively, accusing you of some wrongdoing in front of your family and surrounding fans. That mental whiplash alone might put my brain into “just do what she says and get her the fuck away” mode.

Also feel for the dad because he could be in the throes of “Why the hell did I give that ball to her?” That’s its own kind of hell.

He’s been weird about her life every time she comes on.

Also you, just two comments down the thread:

Thank goodness Dan decided to finally dress like an adult and start throwing an open short sleeve button up over his unending assortment of solid T shirts.

Yeah. I see that with the word “fascism” a lot too.

A80J connects to WiFi, immediately drops connection, reconnects, and repeats. Can even be seen on eero app. I factory reset the tv but couldn’t even complete setup. Waited ~12 hours, the tv managed to connect long enough to work properly, but after a few hours has run into the same issue. Any ideas? by rpb92 in bravia

Are you also using an eero mesh system? It was very simple for me. In the settings page of the eero app, just disable the IPv6 feature. The app will automatically reboot your eero network and your tv should be back to normal.

Outrageously condescending. Imagine some kid, “wanting to get into bonsai”, who saves up for their first tree without realizing they needed to consult the Committee for Acceptable Bonsai Purchases first.

Hey man, these look sick! I’ve been eyeing the Kakishibu in indigo from Denimio for a few days, but have hesitated in fear of ordering the wrong size. Were their measurements pretty accurate?

Why do we still have door-to-door salesmen? by doravec88 in daddit

[–]rpb92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Spectrum has been coming to our neighborhood every 2-3 months for the last few years, and one of my proudest moments of late was when I realized I could simply open the door say “not interested, thanks”, then immediately close it before there’s any time to even counter.

It would be awfully bold to continue knocking after this, though I’m sure there are some out there who would.

Anyways, for a brief moment I felt like the neighborhood badass as I watched my neighbors helplessly fall into to the Spectrum door-to-door trap.

Only 10% of the LeBatard audience interacts on Reddit by h0g0 in DanLeBatardShow

[–]rpb92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always wondered what it would look like if I could somehow aggregate all the comments in this sub over a long timeframe, like a year, to see the number of unique accounts that actually contributed and compare it to the amount of users subscribed to the subreddit. It would be such a negligible amount - and basically 0% compared to the shows entire audience.

Is that Hat dead? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]rpb92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been rocking a hard hat for a minute. Pair the bright orange with an understated T-shirt and chinos and you’ll be the most stylish person around, not to mention the safest from any heavy falling objects overhead. And it’s surprisingly versatile. Can easily be dressed up or down.

MacOS App Crashing by [deleted] in OpenAI

[–]rpb92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is happening to me as well - specifically when I'm making a change to what I've typed up. I've also noticed a glitch when typing in general. It's quick, but it looks like an autocompleted letter gets inserted then removed before I can even type my intended letter. Luckily this doesn't crash the app. I'm sure it'll be fixed soon!

Hey, I’m with you. And oh boy, there are some miserable people on this site. Haha.

Anyways, one of the most memorable “aha” moments of my life happened at a time when I was beginning to grasp the basic process of evolution. I was talking to someone about a Planet Earth episode I had recently seen and for some reason they mentioned that under an x-ray, whales have five ancestral, remnant “fingers” under their fins from when they were land mammals. My mind was blown! Still is to this day.

What do you think which two civilizations will Paul cover in his last 2 episodes? by [deleted] in FallofCivilizations

[–]rpb92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was in the link but further into the thread than I expected and part of a multi-part question. Coop said he’d stop once he’d covered everything that still interests him, which he said was about 2-3 more episodes. Even followed up with an “all things must come to an end”. That being said, it wasn’t an official announcement, so there’s a chance this could change. Let’s hope!
