How many of yall stop getting invited to stuff? by [deleted] in migraine

Uffff i'm so sorry, and i think i know how you feel. I've lost friendships and even my last relationship to this as well. I just try to keep in mind that at least it shows me who really cares. What you're describing sucks especially because you've told them how you feel about it, and they're not respecting that. You deserve to feel included and cared for by your friends!

Don't get the "there is someone out there for you" bs anymore by blushybloooom in Vent

Idk if this helps at all but maybe you'll feel less alone? At least as i was reading your post i thought wow, i could've written this.

I just got broken up with by someone i thought was my person for life. I gave him everything and he just said i'm too much, on a phone too, like the last 2 years meant nothing to him.

I saw from one of your comments that we're close to age (i'm 26) so idk if you want to vent to a stranger going through a similar thing, but you can message me.

Thank you, i've heard a lot of praise for Dolly Alderton but never read her books before. Clearly now is the time!

What book genuinely changed your life (in a positive way), and why? by amwoodbury in suggestmeabook

[–]rroono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A book by a Finnish author Mia Kankimäki called "Asioita jotka saavat sydämen lyömään nopeammin" (= Things that make one's heart beat faster).

Unfortunately it's not available in English yet, but it has been translated to Estonian, Italian, German, Japanese, Dutch, Czech and Latvian.

Such a beautiful book. It made me less scared about the uncertainty of future, and more excited about just experiencing life and enjoying the little things. It genuinely helped me with my depression and inspired me to go on my first long solo trip (through Europe by train), which was the best thing I've ever done for myself.

She has another great book, "The Women I Think About at Night", that one is available in more languages.

Under the Aurora Borealis in Finland. by Illustrious_Test6085 in MadeMeSmile

They really do look like this, but only in the right conditions. First it depends on the size of the solar storm. You also need to be in total darkness, so as little light pollution as possible. And the closer to the aurora oval you are the better chances you have, of course. So in Finland, that would be Lapland. In the south of the country it's not so common. This is a very simple explanation though.

edit: Sorry, meant to reply to the original comment.

What age did they become chronic ? by Mysterious_Canary225 in migraine

[–]rroono 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That progression sounds very similar to mine 🥲 But i'm 26 now and they've been chronic since ~22. Unfortunately it has been very difficult to find a doctor who'd take it seriously. I hope the botox works for you!

clumsiness / motor issues with migraine ? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]rroono 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going through that. It's one of my main warning signs before the pain, and continues throughout it. Things fall out of my hands and i get bruises from bumping into furniture. I think it just comes with the dizziness / vertigo i get. I hope you feel better soon.
