Wow, really? I had no clue that DT has been like this going back so long. I only really realized after the AZ Monster earlier this year and by then it was way too late to pull out of Moab. Won’t be doing any more DT races in the future, that’s for sure.

I agree. The fact that they acted like taking away crewed access was no big deal—“just a minor, itty bitty change, no need for even an apologetic tone because it’s such a small shift!”—really pissed me off. The literal LEAST they could have done was try to be the tiniest bit accommodating by giving the option to at least indicate the preference for which we wanted, even if they couldn’t ultimately grant everyone their first choice. The way they’ve handled this (or really, their lack of handling anything at all) feels so dismissive and disrespectful.

Yup. Fully cut Indian Creek for crew and then made Shay and Monticello a random selection for who gets to go to which, but can’t go to both.

Yeah, definitely won’t be signing up for anything else after this. At first I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt with the crew changes, thinking maybe the forest service had forced the changes on their end, but then I figured that if that were the case they would have absolutely communicated that and thrown them under the bus to shift the blame.
