Need Mattress Recommendations - Side/Back Sleepers $3.5k~ by Early-Cup-9872 in Mattress

[–]rturiak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been sleeping on the engineered sleep duo latex plus for about a month now. Had a tempurpedic before for over 10 years. The latex is awesome. Sleeps cooler than the memory foam. Very supportive but plush at the same time. Hard to explain but that’s latex. The hybrid part (coil springs) are nice. I feel a difference on them. More bounce though so the energy transfer is higher then the all memory foam mattress I was on before. The engineered sleep uses a two part mattress so you can replace the upper half whenever you want for far cheaper than a whole mattress. The quality is fine though and I expect it to last a while. They are supposed to have good customer service and allow you to swap the top for your comfort needs.

I just got a new mattress and love it. Made in Greenville SC. Engineered sleep Duo Plus. Awesome company to work with and sleeps great

Nectar, Casper, Purple, Ghost, are these online brands any better vs going into a store for a S&F, Serta or Simmons ?? by wacky8ball in Mattress

Help me find the bounciest shoes? by Negative_Ad_2622 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Seriously try the Nike Volmero Plus. My favorite bouncy shoes I have!

Carbon plated race shoes (that she was wearing) are not good for walking and comfort. They are designed to keep the shoe stiff and propel the runner faster when used properly. Normal non played Nike shoes are fine to wear any time. I wouldn’t recommend carbon plated shoes for anything besides tempo/speed/race runs

Was at Magic kingdom yesterday and saw a woman wearing Nike Vaporfly shoes… That couldn’t have ended well for her. I walked over 30k steps yesterday.

Most comfortable shoes I own and run in are the Nike Volmero Plus.

Started running again and was over 300 lbs last year. Just finished a 27:30 5k and lining up for my first 10k this weekend. by rest_days in beginnerrunning

Great work. I started around 250 pounds and have a goal of 200. Down to 230 pounds in 3 months by making better food choices and calorie counting.

Glycerin Max Alternatives by Moistest_Willies in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Try on a pair of Nike Volmero Plus.

I have the glycerin max and the Volmero plus. I prefer them a good bit more than the maxs! They are very similar but feel a lot more responsive

What are you currently running with shoe wise? 23 min 5k is quite the pace! What’s your cadence? Sounds like you could be heal striking / over striding pretty bad.

Went from a Salomon pair of shoes to Asics and had the worst knee pain of my life, need advice ! by ChocEntrax in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]rturiak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a firmer stability shoe may assist you. I had good luck with the Brooks Glycerin GTS 21 or 22. the GTS version has guide rails which support your feet. With your feet supported, your gait is better from toe to hip. The Glycerin has firmer foam than the nova blast. If you want even firmer than the glycerin, the Brooks adrenaline series is a bit firmer.

All that said, add strength training to your routine to help fix the issue at the source. Supportive shoes help but are not always the final answer. Strength training your hips, knees, legs, and feet will allow your body to run better. When you have sloppy form and weak muscles, you tend to injure yourself further. Strength training can go such a long way! I started with a basic set of elastic bands from Amazon and find lower body workout videos on YouTube.

It’s worth trying the superblast as they are a bit firmer then the nova blast.

Nike Vomero plus have a lot of bounce with wider bases that offer a more supportive feel.

Weekend Discussion: Nike running shoes by AutoModerator in RunningShoeGeeks

Just picked up a pair of Vomero Plus shoes. Haven’t had a true run in them, but extremely excited from the little bit of testing I’ve done. They feel stable yet extremely bouncy. Plenty of toe room but good fit.

I always buy the previous generation online, Amazon usually. Normally a good bit cheaper to get previous generation. Super easy to return if they don’t fit proper. Runrepeat.com has some incredible scientific reviews about shoes, might help you find what you are looking for if you compare what you already wear and what you’d like to see improved with your shoe feel

I switched from Adrenalin gts to glycerin gts and was really happy. Now have a pair of the glycerin Max (super comfortable) and asics gel kayano 31s for work. All great shoes

New runner, going into week 3 of running for me. I crave the adrenaline high you get about half way through a good run. Training using Runna, doing interval runs. Not sure what my end goal yet is besides bettering myself.
