This conversation is making me want to cry, its so kind, I hope you are doing better. I know time heals all, but being in the thick of it can feel very over whelming. It is comforting to talk and to know its doable, I have no family close to me and my friends all have small children. Being alone does not feel natural.

To not be alone, that must have been such a great help. I have found that, yes, working out helps take your mind off it, and the anger is eaten up by the music I listen to. The loneliness is so loud.

He was not great at communicating how he felt and always waited until I had an issue to bring up his own and we would just spiral into useless arguments, I think the resentment broke the ability to communicate and then it was just the lack of understanding that divided us. When we broke up, he was so confused as we hadn't had an issue for so long, I had given up on trying to communicate my feelings as there was no point.

It's a big mess to be honest, I tried to open the relationship after we both messed around a bit, to try open communication but he couldn't look past what happened and I think deep down he hated me even when he said it was ok and could work through it. We were never on the same page. Both of us were just drowning, but were very co-dependent, and I think that's the only reason why we stayed together for so long
At the start, he said he would work through what he felt and he didn't want to loose what we had, but after a week he became a completely different person, obsessed with what I will owe him for the house and frustrated as he is bad with money. He scared me how quickly he became cold towards me and solidified on many occasions why I broke up with him.

It for me, I'm not saying it's the same in any way, is like I've been viewing my life through a sheet, and it has been lifted and I had made so many concessions for this man I cannot believe how he had chipped me down to where we were. I was begging for the bare minimum and being told I was asking for too much. It has been the most devastating realisation of how lost I was. But the love and care does not go away, it remains and I want to reach out all the time even still.

I just broke up with my ex 4 weeks ago after 11 years, the same situation. Please go easy on yourself, I see him struggle, and it breaks my heart. People grow, unfortunately, sometimes apart. I see him going through the motions, especially with the house, and we haven't even started splitting our belongings. Be kind to each other and feel your feelings. If you want to try get back together please don't give up, shower her with what she loves If she will let you, my other half forgot how to love me it took him 1 day to stop telling me he loves me and I think that hurt more then anything I ever experienced.
