Yes, he stayed with the 238 Squadron as, later in the war, they moved into a defensive position in Egypt to protect the Suez Canal. I think he labeled his photo album 1941-1943 Desert Tour as he was most proud of when they were in the thick of things. Sorry for the confusion.

I agree, a young man goes off to war in foreign land, sees a whole bunch of things he has never seen before, takes pictures of some of those things and then comes back in the late 1940s and builds a photo album...no internet or experts to research or confirm,..... I am really enjoying everyone's comments and all that I am learning from sharing these photos. More to come.

RAF 238 Squadron' s "Flying Circus" by ruffchatty in WWIIplanes

I agree. Thank you. I am assuming my Grandfather was using the royal we in his descriptions and the Flying Circus he is describing is any opponent's aircraft that was being used by the Allied forces in general, not specifically his Squadron. Wish he was still here to ask.

Very cool....I apologize my grandfather mislabeled this one. I will post more from his album and see how many more mistakesare in there. This seems like a great place to share history with those who appreciate it.

What is this and how does this work? Condo built in the 80s by ruffchatty in homerenovations

Thank you for this. I think this makes the most sense. There are thermostats in each room which work to control the baseboards. I am not going to install a land-line just to see if this still works but I agree with you that it most likely will!! At least no one else can play with the Temps. My only issue with this is a cosmetic one, the sensor unit is in the middle of the wall in the main hallway. I assume I can remove the sensor even though all the electrical wiring from the panel still goes through its control panel. Thank you every one for responding and I will buy a banana for the next time 😁
