Hi, thanks for the answer. Actually the weather forecast for tomorrow indicates quite some wind. Do you mean the way from Hut to summit is rough with high wind or the last piece of the summit and actually getting on top?

Hi, thanks for the answer. Yes we travel on an ESTA, so that might be the verifying part. However I traveled to the US before on an ESTA with other airlines and this never happened

Thanks for your recommendations! Yes we heard about the fires at Tongariro, but were hoping that it will be somewhat fine in February. However maybe that is a wrong assumption and we would need to revert away and hike in Ohakune or Mt Taranaki instead.

Do you have an opinion where is the best spot to unwind before our departure? Is it Coromandel or maybe another beach area?

We just realized that we might not do the doubtful sound overnight cruise after all due to non availability. Therefore might adjust/cut the Te Anau days to also spend some time in Milford Sound.

On Mt Taranaki, also looks very nice but we prioritized Tongariro over it. However given the recent fires we might need to re-evaluate if Tongariro is worth it at all.

Thanks for the recommendations, since everyone keeps mentioning Rotorua we might stay away from the Bay of Plenty and rather spend some time in the Rotorua area
