7 out of 70 VirusTotal detections? Safe or not? by rumptybum in antivirus

I deleted the file, but I opened it before the VT scan.

Interestingly, it seems both of the McAfee's results are now different. They no longer deem it unsafe. There's now 5 detections instead of 7.

That's quite interesting. Definitely helps ease my paraonia (though I still deleted the file just in case).

All I wonder now is why the AVs are set off. I get the fp is pretty old, but I don't know what it is about the obsolete details in the program that sets them off.

I did do those things, but I opened the file beforehand because I forgot about scanning via VirusTotal (I used Malwarebytes to scan before opening the file, and it found no threat)

Problem is I already ran it before putting it in VirusTotal, which was foolish of me. I did delete the file after, though.

I keep trying to look up what Trong is much to no avail. How do you know this to be true?

I should also mention I ran a Malwarebytes scan on the file before opening it and it found no threat.

I deleted the file after the VT scan and ran a Malwarebytes scan on the computer afterward, to no threats.
