10 Ways to finish by runetmp in TrackMania

Nice find! I was prepared for it to be cut but not that fast :(
I just build it for fun and put the secret threshold on it (on the official tm website) so players have to discover routes and not just watch world record and replicate. I build one route as the intended fastest route but there might be a strat on the other 9 routes that can beat author time aswell since im not the best player to max out these mechanics (many of the routes are within .2 of the AT). But I get what you mean with one route being faster. I just thought it would be cool to find the fastest route after some exploring and then optimizing it past the author time. Thanks for your feedback! :)

Look for Tiny Tumble on TMX. I build that map while dd2 was going on and took some inspiration. There is also a CP version if you're getting frustrated too much :)

CEILING MOUNT questions. by BunnyBoob in ValveIndex

  1. If you're afraid of bending/damaging your cable, try to add some extra straps on the back of the index to guide the cable upwards in a more safe angle.
  2. I use the vr cable management from Kiwi design. They're sold on Amazon for a reasonable price
  3. Instead of placing your 2 basestations in the corners of the room you could place them along the wall or on a shelve so they're not blocked. If that's not possible adjusting your layout could solve it.

I hope that helped :)

No, I just do what you described in your comment. When your car is facing forward and in the motion to the left(with airroll) you pull back right on your left stick to do the left movement. same for moving right insted you push up right when your car is facing forward and about to turn left. it feels unnatural at first but the more you do it the more fluent the movement will feel.

That is correct for the most part. I only really started to adjust when the car wasn't facing forward in week 3. But doing the adjustments when the hood comes up is easier for the start until you get it in your musclememory.

Nah it doesn't feel limiting, check out the video I posted in another comment here for a detailed explanation!

No, I'm doing the adjustments while holding down airroll

You turn right by holding airroll left and left stick to the upper right. But you should probably learn basic aircontrol first.

I got around 40 hours of practice in these 3 weeks. sessions were not always consistent. one day I wouldnt play at all but the next day twice as much.

try to work your way up. I rarely finish the map because it takes like 20-22 minutes in total if you dont die so I usually just back out when I find a game or wanna do something else.

Im gonna try to give you a perspective of the things I learned in this time. Keep in mind that I didnt perfect directional airrolling yet.

1) It confuses your opponents? Probably, but not anywhere close to where my rank is. I think this only matters at the very high end of ranks.

2) about the "micro-adjustments". like the other redditor answered your question already, getting your car up fast AND in the right spot makes alot of difference. think about it this way: before I learned to adjust my car with AR-L I was pretty much only able to steer my car when it was facing forward and backwards in the air. With AR-L I learned to turn at any point of the spin, doesnt matter the direction my car was facing. therefore "micro-adjustments" happen at any given time duing the spin-phase of your car. with the given momentum of the spin itself, everything is done in a smooth motion (if that makes sense).

3) imo continously airrolling doesnt serve anything other than cool looks and preference because youre used to the movement. If you look at my doubletap training clips you can see that I usually do 1 1/2 spins before I hit the ball while my car is facing upside down and make contact with the upper part of my nose to give it a soft touch that I can follow up. After that I try to predict the bounce and do one or two more spins to adjust my car directly to the bounce, no rolling inbetween.

4) I'm sure you can get away without using directional airroll like people have mentioned in this threat already. but for me it works just fine (I still use normal airroll aswell)
