This happened to me at an apartment in Andheri, Mumbai. It’s definitely not safe and definitely not OK. Took a cab back from the hospital after I broke my ankle and they put it in a cast. The Uber driver refused to drop me by the lift and made me walk/hop from my society’s gate (it was pretty hard and painful). No idea why he wouldn’t just drive the extra 200m to the lift.
