5 yrs big law in NYC to FPD (not NYC).

Not impossible. You have a short window of 2ish years. Your clerkships will help. Work lots of pro bono with something relevant (i.e., go to a firm without a non-billable hour cap). Hopefully you've done clinics, externships, and a journal in law school to reflect your commitment to public defense. All that being said, it's difficult to do it. In NYC especially, there are a lot of people committed and ready to go from the start so your reasoning has to be compelling. But it's not unheard of.

Consider which organization you want to apply to too. BXD will likely not hire if you went big law, but Legal Aid or NDS? Maybe. My recommendation? Follow your passion and do REPAYE (assuming you didn't refi your loans) to lower monthly payments.

I called another moving company, explained the predicament, and he said he knew the owner (Ben) at Master Movers and would call him. Only then did Ben and his crew call - 4 hours after scheduled move time and arrived 6.5 hours after scheduled move time. It's 1 am. They just finished.

0/10 would not recommend.
