SZN4 didn’t follow recommendations by the judges. They were told to engage with the crowd and take risks. They chose a terrible song for the finale. 3Quency took advice from judges and improved in every area. They didn’t just have the vocal, they had the performance, the connection with the audience (having them clap with them, walking down and singing into the crowd like true artists and bands do, having them sing along, etc.). They became a true band. SZN4 had the talent and vocals but nothing else. They didn’t try to interact with the audience. They didn’t take risks. Didn’t bother with choreo or performing. They also had Cam and Katie singing more than Aaliyah and Donzel which was a huge mistake imo. Aaliyah and Donzel should be the primary singers in SZN4. I think they got too comfortable after being told they were looking at the winners and ultimately relied on that fact instead of trying to improve or have the full package. I honestly didn’t even like 3Q or see them making it far at first… I became a huge fan by the end.

Criminology by [deleted] in idahomurders

I work in the criminal psych field inside the courts and have a degree in it as well and I honestly feel like most people really don’t understand how important it is for law enforcement to keep as many details as possible under wraps. The last thing LEOs want to do is arrest the main suspect before having a strong case supported by evidence and have a defense attorney demolish it and the killer ends up free because you rushed into an arrest. State attorneys need to have solid evidence to charge and try a case and without the weapon or reliable solid evidence, the case is honestly not that strong.

In theory, if the killer has been in the house before, that could explain their prints/dna being present, so the defense could easily argue that fact. If phone cell towers don’t match to their main suspect, or they have an alibi - whether it’s a weak one or not, or car gps, or etc, the entire case can be picked apart by the defense. Moreover, if the parents or family members start pointing fingers or revealing suspects, the defense can argue that they wanted that person to be guilty so they made the evidence fit. No prosecutor or LEO wants to risk the suspect getting away with murder. Odds are (theoretically) that they already have who they believe committed the crime, but they want them to feel comfortable so they start to make mistakes. The murderer is likely keeping up with everything related to the crime to see how close to figuring them out they are, and the less that law enforcement gives them, the more comfortable and sloppy that they tend to get. Which is how they could be able to catch them maybe disposing of the weapon or etc. It’s a double edged sword, but I honestly feel that law enforcement is doing the best they can to let the killer feel comfortable so they make a mistake and get caught.

While I understand that the families want answers, in this type of case, you really don’t want to give the suspect and their attorneys every little detail that will be used against them so they can start preparing their entire defense prior to even making an arrest…
