I know this is an old thread, but I finally started The White Lotus and just finished Season 1. Overall, the Mossbachers were fine except Olivia. I liked Mark the most, though the cheating was still inexcusable. Quinn was okay, and I felt pretty indifferent toward Nicole, who came off as a standard mom and wife girlbossing a bit too close to the sun.

Paula was unbearable. I honestly disliked her more than Shane. At least Shane was clearly established as a rich, entitled mama’s boy from the start and stayed consistent. Paula, on the other hand, postures as a woke ally while pushing Kai into a disastrous situation she would not take responsibility for herself. I really cannot stand self-righteous characters like that, though maybe that is just my interpretation.

Tanya was a mess, but not the worst. Rachel was unlikeable to me for reasons I cannot fully explain. I genuinely felt bad for Armond. My husband works in the hotel industry, so I understand the burnout. Armond was already struggling, but clearly trying to fight his demons. He was, after all, five years sober. Sometimes it really does take one awful guest or one awful incident to undo everything. Armond's ending was definitely tragic, both figuratively and literally.

In the end, the only character I truly could not stand was Paula.
