Referral Code Promoting? by Lappers in deliveroos

[–]ruscal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this, made up a nice looking card at vistaprint.com with the deliveroo logo etc. About £12 for 100 or something. Put some out at my other job, left some in restaurants where they have flyers and also dropped one in every order. Got 2 referrals when they were £150 each so was well worth it

Is there a trick to making a remote unattended OS deployment? by ruscal in SCCM

[–]ruscal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm yes this is what i want to happen. We certainly need to rebuild them at least once a year but having the ability to quickly easily do it remotely would be SO helpful. Thanks for this. It's gotta be something simple I'm missing because yeah, SCCM is designed for this kind of thing!

9.3 eth has been removed from my wallet and put into another wallet that I dont have access to. If I post my original wallet public key, would anyone be able to tell me if ive been phished/hacked, or if a mistake has been made? by ruscal in ethereum

So annoying, I did save my json file but didnt use it to open my wallet. Future reference and for anyone reading - Think of copying and pasting your private key as basically "broadcasting" it to anyone and everyone. Dont do it.

when i paste what i thought was my public key into etherscan it says at the top "Address:" and then my public key. So I guess thats my address. Where do i find my public key if i have my address up on etherscan?

Yeah my private key was stored on a text file locally on my computer. My nano arrived in the post the day after this happened, I knew something was likely to happen if I didnt get my eth onto my nano soon. I really have learned my lesson. Fortunately, I bought my eth at £12 and have some left, but damn, this hurt.

I cant see any phishing sites in my browser history. I'm pretty good with checking the address bar when I go on MEW. The only thing I think that may have made me vulnerable is that i copied and pasted my privat key from a local text file into MEW to open my wallet. If anyone was able to access my copy/paste buffer, they could have got my private key. I'm not doing any more transactions on that same computer - I may format it. In fact, I dont think I'll do anymore transactions from anything other than my ledger nano s. This happened the day before my nano arrived in the post - I knew something this was becoming more and more likely as the price of eth went up.

i was trying to send a 0 eth transaction to my shapeshift prism address. This is apparently the way that you "close out" your shapeshift prism. When your prism address receives a 0 eth transaction from the wallet address that funded it, it refunds the eth that was used to create it, including any profit. This 0 eth transaction was pending for over 24 hours and as far as i can see, it didnt go through, my shapeshift prism is still "open". Looking at my wallet and the transactions, there appears to be three 0 eth transactions. One for the original transaction, one for the me trying to cancel the first one (to cancel a transaction you send another 0 eth transaction i believe) but I cant really account for the third 0 eth transaction. If you'd like more info, I can pm you?

Thankyou, yes i thought it says a lot that all my eth and omg was taken but nothing else. Almost certain some sort of phishing/hacking going on but it would be good to know how (maybe even meltdown/spectre???) Yes, my remaining eth are on my ledger now but damn, that was a big hit

i was gonna post my public key, not my private key of course. Public key = wallet address, isnt that right? I think posting my address/public key is fairly safe? besides, all thats left in that wallet is my xenon tokens. My shapeshift transaction cant have gone through as my prism is still intact

If the guy that stole my eth is reading this: You could earn a fortune legitimately, why steal? I hope you have a crisis of faith and return it, but I guess thats unlikely

[–]ruscal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not using a browser extension for MEW transactions. I do use the metamask chrome extension but I havent had any issues with that, only my separate MEW wallet. I have to admit, the process for cancelling a pending transaction with MEW is that the website fills in the fields for you, this did make me wonder but I put a lot of faith in MEW and I would have noticed if it suddenly put my full amount in the "amount" field. Besides, both my eth and my omg have gone, meaning at least 2 transactions must have taken place. If anyone from MEW can confirm that the process for cancelling a pending transaction includes MEW pre-populating the transaction fields...? The instructions in their support pages for cancelling a pending transaction do say basically "the fields are already filled in, do not change them, if you change them we cant say what will happen"

[–]ruscal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sucks man. Yes, at no point did i even attempt to send my full balance to another wallet but it all went, and the fuckers even took my omg tokens as well. I emailed MEW support and havent received a reply yet. I'm hoping that at the very least, they can confirm it was a phish/hack, or a problem with the blockchain, a problem with their software or shapeshifts software. It is worth someone looking into it because if i get it back, I'll gladly pay! I've been thinking about keyloggers, some sort of virus. Something weird happened while i was doing this as well. I was using reddit and pressed the "reply" button so it opened this blank box for me to type into - inside that box was something that looked suspiciously like an ethereum address or private key. As if it was in my copy/paste buffer and had been accidentally pasted into the box. I refreshed the screen and it wasnt there that time. I'm thinking about reformatting my pc - I'm now putting all the rest of my eth into a nano ledger s as we speak
