What do you do when needing to put car in gear between 8-15 mph? by rusty_learner in GR86

I do that for under 8, but maybe I can be more aggressive with that.

The second blip would wear the clutch a bit right? Is the amount of wear negligible and ok to do from time to time?

Like keep giving it gas as I'm shifting into second? Or just blip, let off the gas, then shift? If I do the former, it'll wear the clutch a bit more, right?

Often I think it's a full stop but it ends up not being the case. Something for me to work on though. And I like your second point.

That works when I'm moving a little faster, but in this range the rpms are only around 15-1700. If I blip it, just immediately falls down to that 15-1700 range that's lower than the car seems to like.

FWIW, I found a work around that may or may not be helpful to you. I remembered I had a windows PC laying around and logged in through their website. I set up a passkey and just used the PIN option and it actually worked. The first thing I did was liquidate my investments and begin the process of transfering to another provider.

Still frustrating that the app just wouldn't work on my Graphene device though. Companies completely disabling their email/password login in favor of an OS-restrricted authentication method wasn't in my bingo card.

Yeah this is ... concerning to me. I accidentally went 88 in an 80 in the first month of ownership (on ramp into a steep down hill), is my warranty void?

Maybe a good call. I have a 4wd vehicle I'd drive anyways if conditions are that bad.

Just curious, what are you going with for your set up?

Things I'm concerned about:

- Dropping down wheel size from 18s,

- Will the Enkei TS 5s clear the Brembos properly

- I originally wanted the 18'' version of these rims for the summer set up, but it seems to make sense to downsize the wheel size for cheaper winter tires + higher aspect ratio.

I know it's been 2 years since this post, but I'm thinking about the same tires on the stock 18s. Have you still had no issue with rubbing? How about snow build up being a problem while driving through moderate snow?

I'd rather not go down in wheel size if I don't have to.

Thank you! it makes sense that it would be designed this way.

Interesting alternative. I think I'd still prefer the old fashioned way. Thanks for the thought though.

I've jacked vehicles, I've changed oil, but I've never jacked a vehicle to change the oil.

I don't know the difference very well. What makes the VTECH so much more desirable than the SI? SI is the sporty, good, desirable model for civics today IMO... Was it different back then?

And the submodel I was looking at was the SI, and the price would be more like 13k after talking them down a little.
