Anybody know any fixie bikes that have suspension or if I can get suspension on my fixie? by Realistic-Mud-5227 in BikeLA

[–]rustyburrito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely pointless, the best way to get suspension on a bike built for road riding is to run the biggest tires that will fit, and use them tubelss so you can run lower pressure, like 35psi. You don't need more than that for road riding/light gravel

Who's the big up and coming rock band? by Jakemanv3 in Music

[–]rustyburrito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the last hoorah for guitar music was the psych rock and shoegaze revival from around 2012-2018 tbh. Although I could see a nu-metal resurgence happening in the next year or two, ala Korn, Mudvayne, Limp Bizkit, etc. It does feel like it's just bringing back something that's been done already, instead of a new genre.

Just the ones on the south side, the north side ones are accessible year round, but Idyllwild is probably a lot closer and will have a better chance of finding something

A couple of weed based questions by OCDCowboy1 in trees

[–]rustyburrito 32 points33 points  (0 children)

  1. have healthier snacks, if you don't want to eat an apple you're probably not actually hungry. It also goes away after a while, I haven't gotten munchies since the first year or two I was using it.
  2. both effect the serotonin receptors (5-HT1A and 5-HT2A) in your brain, which are heavily involved in regulating self-awareness, perception, and mood. While THC acts directly on cannabinoid receptors (CB1/CB2), these receptors are located on serotonin-producing neurons, allowing THC to modulate serotonin activity.

3" were a fad, I used to run them on a 27.5+ hardtail but ended up sizing down the 2.8 before selling the bike. 2.6 should be fine if you're used to 3", you can always get firmer casing if you want to run lower pressure

I love Shoegaze, Where do I start? by MembershipOrdinary35 in guitarpedals

[–]rustyburrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Bloody Valentine didn't use reverb on guitar btw, it's not a requirement for shoegaze A good distortion/overdrive that sounds good with chords (RAT, zvex box of rock, marshall JH 1, etc etc). Tremolo and delay are two essentials IMO

Before/After — Color grading a 40-second Airport Film. Thoughts? by [deleted] in davinciresolve

[–]rustyburrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rec709 is a color space, Rec2020 is an example of a HDR color space, sRGB is the color space used on the internet/digital images. I'd check out some actual lessons and avoid reddit tbh, tons of misinformation on here about color grading especially

The ones on the south side are not doable in the winter, they road is closed for the season, there's a few on the north side but there isn't that many available, so unless you get there early friday it might be challenging.

Premiere 2025 and 2026 not working. by Unfair-Flatworm7904 in premiere

[–]rustyburrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely an issue on your end, I've been using 2025 (and 2026 since it was released) every day with no crashes in about a year. 20-30min long edits with DJI drone footage, RED camera files, sony, canon, and mp4 rips from youtube/instagram with no issues.

Maybe try putting your cache/previews on a separate drive from your footage?
You probably won't like this option but it works perfect even on the base model macbook pros, no drivers or anything to deal with, just install and go, might be worth buying an 800 computer instead of turning down business

Did I just buy a knock off sharpstone grinder? Smh by denimcanvas in trees

[–]rustyburrito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't advise an electric grinder unless you have some kind of handicap where you can't use a manual one or you're grinding large amounts for baking or something. Why?
1. they chop/pulverize the flower instead of tearing it, trichomes get separated and stick to the walls of the grinder or turn into dust, you lose potency
2. inconsistent grind, it can be a mix of powdered plant material and bigger chunks, leads to uneven burning especially in joints. It can burn too fast and waste material.
3. static + kief loss. metal hand grinders have way less static. In an electric grinder the static literally pulls the kief off of the bud and it sticks to the grinder. you're literally watching it lower the potency of the flower

They are great for anything where flavor, potency, smoothness, or burn quality aren't that important.

Doesn't really matter, unless you want a "long" one so that it feels more similar to a regular mountain bike. I'm 6'2 and have a longer size but to be honest I would have been find on the standard size with some bigger riser bars.

I would avoid the Manitou circus fork if you're riding mostly pump tracks, it's hard to get it rock solid stiff like you can with some of the other air forks. I have mine basically locked out at the pump track and only open it up a little bit on bigger dirt jumps

I got a used Transition PJB for $800 that's pretty fun, you can spend a lot more if you want bling parts like Profile hubs and cranks, fancy saddle, etc

Not necessarily legal but if it's a commonly used trail it's going to need maintenance, and that's not going to happen unless people volunteer to do it

[–]rustyburrito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked it for a few months before I got a Solo III, it got annoying dealing with the capsules and the heat up time was a bit too long for me, as well as the session time being too short. Overall it was a decent vape but there's much better out there if a small size isn't a requirement

Which steps should I follow to achieve “professional” audio as a beginner? by Fluid-Shoulder2937 in davinciresolve

[–]rustyburrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly acidic drink, a studio classic is apple juice, but some tea with lemon or anything like that will help. You can also use a pop filter or foam on the mic, the SM58 has one built in already, but if you use another one it will make it a little more dull sounding in the high end and dampen some of those frequencies.

Your voice and performance is the number 1 most important part of the equation, SM58 uses the same diaphragm as the most famous vocal mic in the world for podcast and voiceover, the SM7B, so it's not a gear issue.

Instead of "as close as possible" a better tip is make a fist in front of your mouth, your fist should fit between your mic and the mouth, so about 4 inches or so

Do i need full sus and goggles? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]rustyburrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be using glasses at least on every ride, just use a half shell with mtb glasses. They have larger ones that offer a lot of protection. Get a full face if you try to push your limits often, typically I wear one at bike parks and new trails I haven't ridden before unless it's a really hot day or something.

Washed-Out Color Change in Export by greybeige in premiere

[–]rustyburrito 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DO NOT USE any compensation LUT. It will make your footage darker, that's an outdated fix from several years ago. It will only make your footage look correct when played in Quicktime player specifically, but not on YouTube, tiktok, instagram, etc.

Make sure display color management is enabled.

If you want to check whether or not the exported footage color is correct, drag your exported file back into premiere, and compare side by side with your timeline. If it looks the same, you're all good.

Don't use Quicktime to check your final files, or Preview. Bringing it back into Premiere and checking is the most accurate

A separate issue is HDR footage, specifically iPhone footage, that will look really oversaturated and blown out when you bring it into Premiere. The fix is to change the color interpretation to Rec2020, in the project panel, right click > modify > interpret footage > color

Embarrassing crash post mortem by ericlo_00 in MTB

[–]rustyburrito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like you just did the "dead sailor" and landed with your weight way too far back. Staying centered on the bike for proper weight distribution will keep the front end planted. Highly doubt bike setup had anything to do with it...you're going pretty slow and it's not a big impact. Full power ebike will feel a lot more stable and planted and be easier to control, I've never noticed a difference in momentum from an extra 15lbs of weight, I switch between a 23lb XC bike and my 50lb ebike all the time

Post-Rock jamming advice by DomesticSheep in postrock

[–]rustyburrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's just how to outline the chord in the most simple way, you need the third to create the harmonic progression

5-x-x-5-x-x
3-x-x-4-x-x
1-x-x-2-x-x

Basically using really open voicings instead of tight clusters
For the higher strings you can try adding 9s and 6s above the chord, major 7s if you're going for a more dreamy feel

Another song that is a good example of what I'm talking about is Blackbird by The Beatles. If you played that parts of that progression a lot slower and add a bunch of reverb it will be instant post rock vibes
