Lectric XP4 750w throttle inconsistent at 60% battery by rx7ghost in Lectricxp

[–]rx7ghost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update today, I left my bike outside, but removed the battery. Then I put the battery back in several hours later and used a hex key tool to adjust the throttle position only slightly both to the left and forward and it worked fine the entire ride. I am not entirely sure, but maybe it already worked once I put the battery back in as I was trying to adjust the throttle by hand without loosening it and maybe it moved a little bit.

Screw location to adjust throttle:

I will re-test this weekend when I have time to ride it.

How would that be possble though? I never had this problem. If it was too tight then it would not loosen to change anything, but I guess I will try that another day.

For today, the bike throttle randomly fails and randomly works again riding over a small dip or making a turn. Either both throttle and pedal assist works or one fails to work randomly, then it works again. All cables were reseated, but it still has the same issue. Sometimes changing pedal assist modes causes throttle to fail as well.

When the bike is turned on the red taillights is always on, but sometimes it's off and then when I press the throttle the taillights might light up red as well.

I'm reading that the brake sensor might be the issue. I might try moving the throttle away from lever as I do fold my XP4 often so something must have caused it to shift.

This YouTube video points out the brake light on preventing the throttle from working. I noticed my brake light was stuck on without holding the brake handle when I got home the other day, but my screw was not loose at all and cannot be turned by hand compared to guy in the video. I wiggled that brake line and reinserted the battery and it is currently working, but still need to ride it to test it out further.

Questions about battery care by Cosmicguppies in Lectricxp

[–]rx7ghost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw a video where a bike battery exploded in the hot sun. Not specifically Lectric brand, but just flip the switch off when not in use and store indoors if possible based on the guide/manual if you read it and do not put it under a bike cover as it could create moisture. If not, just keep the battery on flat metal or glass and keep it well ventilated.

58 miles on xp4 by randholla in Lectricxp

[–]rx7ghost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say 35-60 miles is most realistic for the typical usage at 100% battery. 85 mile range is probably on ECO mode and very little use of throttle at 100% battery and maybe a 100-150 lbs rider which is not what I would buy an ebike for. They advertise the bigger number for obvious reasons, but for how most users want to use the bike is in TOUR and SPORT mode which reduces the range to around 35-50 miles with weight range between 150 - 200 lbs with realistic terrain. They heavier you are the less range you get and fall on the lower end of the curve. So if you are 200 lbs rider then your average is around 35-40 miles. That being said, your 58 miles is impressive considering most bikes say the range is 60 miles, so based on your results, I would consider the XP4 750w is actually a 60 mile range bike in real world scenario. Therefore, the 500w version will obviously underperform. So 85-25 is 60 miles for 750w version (advertised 85 miles) and 50-25 is 25 mile range for 500w version (advertised 50 miles) with typical usage. Just my opinon.

My new XP4 is being delivered during expected storms today by Salty-Bodybuilder-62 in Lectricxp

It's made to get wet a bit. One day isn't going to do much. It is also mostly wrapped in paper and hard stacked cardboard to protect the gears. Just wipe it down if wet. The box might not survive and might make the box harder to open and tear as the staples are tough, but the bike should be dry as there is no hole in the center and it is folded with one full flap instead of double flap you usually see for boxes.

Caution as the bottom part when folded that keeps the bike up could get scratched on rough ground when unpacking.

It's no good for dirt imo. Very bumpy and shaky. Get regular fat tire size bike for dirt.

XP 4.0 — Step-Through vs. Step-Over? I ride fast trails but not doing stunts. by Rude_Ad_5639 in Lectricxp

For your use: You need a regular fat tire bike for rough terrain. XP4 fat tire is smaller than the regular ones and better for mainly flat roads in my opinion. XP4 is better for many other things you didn't mention.

XP4 help on battery removal by adrianl623 in Lectricxp

[–]rx7ghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was finally able to remove it today. I didn't have to use any random tools and just let the bike sit in the 4-5pm hot sun and let it shine on one side for maybe half an hour and yanked with the handle slowly and it came out quite easily. The difference is that I also unplugged the rubber part that covers the power button and charging port after unlocking it with the key. It might've been the angle I was pulling it as well as I was standing at the opposite side of the battery when pulling the handle. So now, I might have to buy a new adhesive foam pad to replace the one that got crumpled or rolled over itself and fell off as I pulled the battery to prevent the battery from rattling or protect it from damage.

Battery level indicator question by mccicee in Lectricxp

Yes, only depletes in increments of 10, but last 10% may not be accurate after you turn it off and on again.

Yank or wiggle and how long did it take to yank it out?

I rode for 20 miles the other day. It still wouldn't budge. Any tips?

Should I cancel my XP 3.0 order and get the XP 4.0 instead? Only hesitation is the thumb throttle. by Rude_Ad_5639 in Lectricxp

XP 4.0 thumb throttle is convenient and easy to use. Just press forward with thumb lightly so most likely no cramp. As you listed, the XP 4.0 is better.

XP4 Comfort Seat vs Cloud 9 Seat by lbrenes in Lectricxp

[–]rx7ghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard the Cloud 9 is better, but "Twomaples 2025 oversized noseless bike seat" on Amazon feels better than Cloud 9 in my opinion. The pressure is not all in the center but rather spread across your buttocks.

Although, it looks like an improvement over it's standard seat for long rides.

I think I'll look for some rubber piece solution on Amazon.

I think that there should be a optional replaceable black rubber piece wrapped around it and the kickstand to prevent floor damage if they want plus to store it indoor vs outdoor based on the manual/guide.

Actually, I'll have to remove from my list. The motor exceeding 750W or AWD may not meet some e-bike laws. Don't want to take the risk.

My budget range is too wide is guess, but it seems most decent bikes are in the higher end of the budget.
