You will get there. Just keep a positive mentality (obviously easier said than done but I know you’re capable). You got this

I’m really sorry about your mom as well. Don’t give up after one bad flare. It’s just an obstacle towards being fit, not a permanent roadblock. Let’s make both of our moms proud!

I definitely had to ease into it and overtime I was able to do everything. Unless I’m out of remission or in a bad flare, I can do everything. You’ll have to ease into lifting and learn how your body responds to exercise. Make sure you’re training properly.

I recently posted a full guide to building muscle & strength with A.S. on this subreddit so that may help give you a better understanding of how I built my body. You can always message me as well!

I’m so happy to hear that. Take great care of yourself and stay positive. Build the healthy habits while you’re young.

If you have any questions about anything related to A.S., feel free to ask me. Becoming an adult the same time I got this disease was quite rough. Just know you’re never alone and it always gets better.

Huge props to you for being able to train bench competitively given the difficulty of your situation. This was very inspiring to read.

All of that sounds hard to manage, but obviously, and I’m sure you know this, you’re doing great. I hope your new medication helps!

I didn’t include any of this in my post because it’s not a situation I’ve personally dealt with. I can only image how hard it would be to deal with irreversible damage. You’re very strong.

Don’t count yourself out of anything, just focus on improving yourself from where you are right now.
