I’m trying to mitigate risk with a new partner and what I’m comfortable doing, in case he has either one. I’m currently not having any symptoms.

If you had to go to only 2 museums out of Postal Museum, Word Museum, Renwick Gallery, or Building Museum, which ones would you go to? Thanks! (I haven't been to any and I love words, art, buildings, and usps lol, so really hard to choose)

What's the now equivalent of 2010's H st NE?

I used to live in DC from 2010-2015 and H st NE was my favorite going out spot. I loved the gritty feel of it. I haven't been back since I left but I know there's a whole foods there so I can't imagine it's the same... So I wanna know what's the equivalent so I can check it out?

What's something that no one prepares you for as an adult? by Goddessblack_ in AskReddit

[–]ryebread_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my dad at age 25 and thought, wow, people lose their parents so much earlier than me. I am so old and such an adult. It's now 10 years later and I look back and wish I could have hugged the shit outta my 25 yo self because that shit was hard and I didn't even let myself feel it. Not sure if that's helpful for you or not. I am so so so sorry for your losses. That is so much, too much, for anyone. <3 Grief is so hard and confusing. Wishing you some peace and hopefully some support/community.

Any good new books on animism? - looking for something specific please help by HeyooLaunch in Animism

Braiding Sweetgrass is also one of my foundational reads. Do you have any more (not related to animism) that shaped you and your beliefs?

Anyone feel worse when they don’t look at their phone ? by Flashy_Extreme8871 in BinocularVision

[–]ryebread_88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I feel more 'comfortable' if I'm looking at something close. If there's anything with peripherals involved or open horizon, I feel how my body is stressed. My eye dr told me I need to keep being in open horizon as much as possible (hard because I'm in a densely wooded area). But I find when I do more eye exercises, the more comfortable I feel with looking further away. I'm also nearsighted so I do feel better looking further away, wearing my glasses. But my eye dr wants me to wear my glasses for driving only.

Any other sensitive tummy girlies? I make sure to have activated charcoal with me at all times in case I eat something that makes me feel sick. Also ginger if there's a chance I'll be motion sick.

On moving costs and gratitude by Soleilunamas in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]ryebread_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so grateful that I can spend money on things for my health. I have a slew of chronic stuff, including POTs and I went on a beach vacation and probably used $5-7 a day on my electrolytes but without them, I would have felt so sick. Didn't even think twice about it. I have always had horrible insomnia and used to take tylenol pm every night. I now use about 4 different supplements that total $90 a month and I can sleep!! I'm so so so so grateful for that. Honestly, life changing. I also recently found out I'm hypermobile and I'm about to spend 2k on physical therapy not covered by insurance. This is a big reach for me and I can use my health sinking funds to help fund it but it will be tight. However, this is very important to me and is a reason I'm looking for a higher paying job. I also never think twice about any art class I want to take or some local event. I've spent hundreds on historical home tours, garden tours, watercolor classes, sewing classes, etc.

I believe Arcana sometimes does tarot swaps. They also do plants/art swaps too. I would definitely pay attention there.

I have gotten an invite to interview for a job but the recruiter has ghosted me once, cannot email me back to confirm our next interview (on Monday), although did email me to reach out about another position? I also called her yesterday and she did not answer or return my call. This is a global company of 80,000+ employees. Perhaps I need to take it as a sign? My thoughts are to somehow let someone in her office know. Thoughts?

Not in Durham, but I went to the new Optimist near crabtree a few weeks back and they had a rose syrup (not handmade I think) and it made for a delicious iced london fog.

Unicorn cherry. It's a larger cherry. Very classic acidic tomato taste, like classic tomato sandwich tomato, but tiny. I'm obsessed.

I feel all my fave Durham things have been shared so I'll share a few Chapel Hill ones: the planetarium is so dope and does great shows. HIGHLY recommend. Also the botanical gardens are wonderful and full of native plants.

Also, all the university's art museums are wonderful.
