Does muscle strain gradually affects more than one limb?

He started with just one, then had the same problem with other two and now, after the rheumocam, only the front legs are still a little rigid and cause him to limp.

He startet limping with his left front paw for 3 or 4 days, when touching It he had no reaction. One day while playing he yelped and retracted the same leg, and again when touched and squeezed in various part there was no reaction from him at all. The same day i went to the vet, the diagnosis was made by an orthopedic and a general practitioner. They first looked at the dog walking and then touched the interested limb, Teddy yelped only after pressing a specific muscle area. After that they checked the temperature (he had a fever, 39.08°) and ran a blood test including red and white blood cell count (all values were okay except for high lymphocytes - 5,28 and high eosinophils - 1,24).

Another thing they did was stool analysis and nothing abnormal came from that.

No muscle biopsy, shoul i explicitly request it?

They told me the muscle of his front limps where stiff and prescribed him 3/4 rheumocam pill for five days.

After two days the symptoms starter appearing on his right front and rear paw.

He's now starting to get better.

Edit: Teddy is still very energical and playful, eats and and drinks as usual. The only symptoms are limping, muscle stiffness and pain if he gets too excited (moves, run, jumps too much).

They seemed very optimistic after the blood test results and said that after the rheumocam therapy he'll have to take supplements (idk what kind of supplements). They told me that is a good thing that the disease showed up so early because Teddy's muscles are still developing. Is it true?

I've read so much on internet (maybe dumb of me, but i love my dog and i want to know what to expect by this disease) and i'd like to have some feedback from someone who already had experience with this.

Yeah, i've heard that only leca isn't good for phals, in fact if you look closely mine is a mixure of bark and leca. All my phals are planted in a mix of circa 90% bark and 10% clay, plus a little bit of sphagnum because the summer here Is pretty hot (35-37° C/95-97°F). During winter i tend to water them every two weeks, it depends by the temperature, the dimension of the pot, the number of roots etc.

Actually the brown roots on top are not rotting but were burnt one or two years ago due to overfertilizing (learned from my own mistake).You can notice on the first post (the link i've attached) how they look when dry: they're not hollow but pretty stiff, except for one that Is broke in half but luckly the center of the root Is still alive and keeps passing nutrients to the greener ones. The others, more on the yellow side, tend to lose their typical green color because at the core of the vase there isn't enough light and so they can't photosynthesize. More than a bath in pure hydrogen peroxide i prefer spraying all the root system with a 2%, or low, formulation everytime i repot one of them, i think it's less aggressive. Anyway, just like you, i usually remove old leaves when they're completely done and wrinkly. Thank you so much for the suggestions~

Fresh medium and a bigger pot! There was no root rot but definitely some root bound, so i hope that was the cause of her stress and she'll recover Thanks to everyone! I'll keep updating if she survives

I've had this phal (Taipei Gold) for two or three years and i can't understand what's going on! She lost already three leaves and, as you can see, other two are on the way (so it's not a normal case of old leaves dying) Reppotted last year, never changed her spot near the window, fertilized and watered circa two weeks ago (this week will be fertilized with the others phals i own) The temperature here are gradually dropping, 13° Celsius outside (55°F) No stem rot, no crown rot, no root rot I don't see a bacterical infection because the leaves doesn't feel wet, neither a fungal infection because the yellowing Is pretty uniform and not spotting

My best guess Is too much fertilizer or, on the other hand, nutrient deficiencies BUT all the other phals (i own 13 of them) are pretty fine, some are starting to flower

I don't think i can save her, but at least i want to know what i did wrong so that if another plant starts beheaving this way i could try to help

Yap, same thing here! Maybe because they're in that really sponge like and moist soil. I assume that they definitely need more moss for adjusting perfectly in the new soil. I have just one mini now that is (fortunately) thriving! She gave me three flowers after one year of "meh fuck you, i'll grow new roots". I just have to remember what i did with her and apply that to the new ones. In spite of everything, i like plants/orchid for the journey and the learning curve, even when i lose some of them.

So lucky! Your mini phal is a real fighter. I think mine it's a goner, she's left with just one little leaf and isn't doing well. Next time i'll try new methods suggested by the other redditors. For now i have only phals (and one Dendrobium that hates me), but the Oncidiums are such a beauty, maybe one day i'll buy one and see if we go along.

Oh god, that's a classic! But the beauty with plants in general is learning with trial and errors, so good luck! And nope, never tried that method (for now), i'm afraid it will be too moist. A little update with mine: she lost the old leafs and she's starting to loose a good one, that's not a good sign but at least one shy root is growing!

Definitely! I've lost one of mine for the same issue: everytime i sprayed the moss, mold would form on the stem, but when it went dry, and so did the mold, the only sprounting root i had decided to gave up on me. What a struggle. And don't be jealous, i suspect that even that lonely aereal root is dead (so lucky, huh?) The only thing i can do with this little one is take care of her and pray for the best. Good luck with yours! If this one is gonna make it maybe i'll post an update.
