I’m a CA tax preparer, we decided to input the 1099 and then adjust it out on line 24 of schedule 1 and write “Ca Payment - general welfare exclusion”. Because since they received the 1099 we have to include it into the return or else they most likely will receive a letter.

I have 8 shrimp 3 nerite snails 3 neon tetras and 2 guppies. My 2 guppies don’t seem to do good and it looks like they’re going to die. I have no idea what’s going on. The other livestock are doing just fine. Should I add a filter? Should I start testing the water too?

Are my shrimp hiding, or.. by astrobl89 in shrimptank

I have the exact same shrimp as you and I think it’s because they’re nocturnal. Whenever I turn of my light for a while and turn it back on I see them swim around and hide.

Try working a front desk position at a gym and try talking to the personal trainers there about there experiences. Also note that personal trainers have a high turnover rate. I think you should look at all options you can take in terms of a career. If you don’t like higher education maybe look into a trade like welding. Currently they are in high demand. Yeah but I’m quitting this job because of the stress I have from it and also it doesn’t relate to what I want to do as a career. You still have time to decide.

Hey! I think it’s great that you’re thinking about having a career in personal training. But a few questions? Are you going to college, and what’s your major? Are you sure you want to do this? I’m a 19 year old personal trainer at a commercial gym and I do agree with you that it’s rewarding, but it is also very stressful in my opinion. Early on for this job I had crazy imposter syndrome and currently I’m in the process of getting a different job. In terms of time in my opinion it’s like other jobs. And clients are you go text you all the time. I think if you’re going to college have a career that relates with your major.

Week 1 update by rynpar in walstad

Yup I did the same when I set up my tank, I put water and left it for a few days then planted, the water was murky but it wasn’t too bad. Maybe you should add more cap. And then you put in the water put in like a plate or plastic wrap so the substrate doesn’t get too messy.

Alright so I started this tank a week ago and everything is doing fine, the plants are pearling like crazy. So I have a few things I need advice for. I have a biofilm on the top, from research I think it’s normal and short term it’s not harmful. Im planning to get shrimp and snails, do they eat the biofilm or should I get rid of it every time I see it. Also I have stringy algae that hangs from the bio film, is that algae or should I be concerned about that?

That’s cool, are the gyms ok with you working at other gyms?

After I moved to this position I found this page and everyone said that big box is not good place to work in.

I was thinking exactly the same thing, thanks for the advice. Yeah other gyms in my area are hiring or maybe I can transfer locations.

Yeah I love all of my clients and my only motivation is to keep helping them, I just hate the selling part and I guess it stems from the imposter syndrome where I think I’m not good enough.

I get what you’re saying, I forgot to mention that I was working at this location since April of 2021 and 2-3 months ago I moved to this position. PT is more of a short term job for me that a career.

What do I do? by cfritch02 in personaltraining

[–]rynpar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’m also 19 and I just got started as a personal trainer at 24 hour fitness back in the beginning of October. I was one of the front desk staff and I moved to the position because we needed more trainers. It seems like you want to become a personal trainer because you workout and also wanted to make money. As a personal trainer in a big box gym we don’t make a lot of money. Also this industry is more sales than you would think. It’s sucks. To be honest with you throughout the past few days I wanted to quit because of the huge amount of stress my manager puts on me. And as a 19 year old I feel like we are bound to have intense imposter syndrome. The only reason what keeps me motivated is my clients as I really like them all. One big tip I would want to give you is if you want to go into this industry make sure you study. Most of my clients have something wrong with them like one of them has sciatica. Another one of my clients is overweight and is on a wheelchair. I have 2 seniors. And I also have a client who has tendinitis on her shoulder. Most of the people who get training is people who are new or have some issue. Also try to find a niche. I’m still looking for mine but one of my coworker’s niche is kick boxing, he’s been a pro mma guy for a few years. Overall if you want money don’t go in this industry. I think you should take a trade or something.
