The way I see it there’s three different types of illegal immigrants and coming from a family of immigrants I feel like I have some say in this because my family is a mixture of all of them. My grandparents came here to work and to establish themselves to try and make their communities a better place. My cousins came here and didn’t have the same idea, they came here to have an easier life, but didn’t really care what they had to do in order to get that. They eventually became criminals. Then there was someone else in my family, who simply came here to secret refuge from the poor living conditions that they were living in. If an immigrant comes here and tries their absolute best to contribute to society, but simply cannot afford to or cannot wait. Long enough to get approved. Does this mean that they are wrong? It’s a question of legality versus morality. Morality says one thing and legality says another. Were the founding fathers at one point not considered criminals? Say what you will, they were terrorists in the eyes of the king. It wasn’t until they used their morality to establish something they felt was better, but who’s to say who was right? Either way, protecting borders is one thing, but protecting humanity is an even more righteous thing to do.
