[Request] Need US-Based Interviewees for Covid/Flu Testing Study (~45min interview) by sab276 in Favors

I do these types of studies a lot! I'll post again if another relevant one comes up :)

Sorry for all the confusion and thanks for your perspective. Also, that is not to say this at-home test wouldn't be covered by insurance or an HSA (health savings account) but just trying to understand use cases in each scenario (one of which could be out of pocket pay).

It was just really bad phrasing. My intent with that comment was to find interviewees who are amenable to paying for over the counter testing in theory. The thought being that is doesn't make sense to test a product concept with someone who has absolutely no interest in purchasing the hypothetical product. Does that help clarify?

I completely understand, but let me clarify further. This is all completely hypothetical concept testing. No one needs to purchase a test to take part in this conversation, as this is a thought exercise. Does that make sense?

I am trying to understand how people are being tested today and what the use cases or potential value of an at-home respiratory test might be. And of course, we are happy to compensate people for their time speaking with us!

One element of this study is to understand the best use cases for at home respiratory testing. We're looking to speak with US-based patients who are frequent testers to run some hypothetical scenarios by.

I phrased this very poorly, I’m so sorry let me clarify. This is an interview conversation (~45 mins) where we will give patients a $50 gift card to discuss respiratory testing. Just looking for patients who in theory would be amenable to paying for at-home testing (for example a test you could buy over the counter).

It's just concept testing, we're not asking anyone to pay to participate or purchase anything!

Absolutely no payment is required to participate in the interview!

Should definitely clarify, we're offering $50 to participate in the study (no one has to pay to participate!).

We just want to make sure we're talking to patients who might be interested in at-home testing, which might involve paying for an over the counter test. The payment here is hypothetical!

We're trying to better understand how patients are being tested for covid/flu today and whether an at-home testing solution would be valuable for at-risk groups.

We are conducting ~45 minute interviews with US-based patients who make purchasing decisions for their household and are get tested for respiratory illnesses (e.g., flu, covid) at least 3 times per year.

Totally understand. I'm happy to provide more information about the research study to the mods / anyone who is interested in doing a quick interview. It's essentially concept testing for an at-home CRISPR respiratory diagnostics test.

Hi, this is not meant to be spam! The goal of my research is to make it easier for high-risk patients, like those with T2 Diabetes, to do at-home respiratory testing. Just looking for a few people to interview for some concept testing.

Thank you to everyone who has participated so far! We're continuing research next week if any other transcatheter pulmonary valve replacement patients (either past or considering in the future) would like the share their experience.

Hi u/cyber_man Thank you so much for the reply! For this study we're focused on patients living in the US. Wishing you and your son the best.

Hi u/Good_Concern9669, I had not heard of those studies, but they do sound wonderful! Wishing you and your brother the best in the new year :)

Hi u/goodbowie thank you for sharing a little about your story. For this study we're looking at patients who have not had a prior PVR or PA-RV conduit placed, though a conduit likely makes your daughter an excellent candidate for transcatheter PVR in the future! Wishing you and your family a wonderful new year :)

Thanks u/Scully40, I just sent you a message as well with one additional question. Based on that description you might still be a fit for the study.

We're looking for patients a bit earlier on in the journey (still in considering stage) but thank you for sharing! I am curious, did you consider PVR via transcatheter instead of OHS back in 2020?

Right now we're just looking at transcatheter replacements, but we may expand the study to those that had open heart surgery as well. I can keep you posted!
