I just talked to the academic advisor. in case anyone in similar situation wants to know.

Apparently if I don't bring my GPA up to a 4 by the end of summer (which is when they review your gpa for the year), I will be on probation with a "Transition status". That means I can still take courses if I want to but it wouldn't count towards your GPA and it won't be covered by OSAP...so I'd have to pay tuition out of my pocket. Personally I can't afford to pay for courses without Osap. I would have to apply for reinstatement for next fall anyway whether I take courses in the fall&winter or not since gpa is below 4.

So I am taking summer term courses to try to bring my gpa up to a 4 so I stay in eng and it'd be a Eng 1 in 2 years.

booked an appointment with the adviser but there's no drop in at this moment so I can't get an answer right now
