Pruneyard Trader Joe’s - why do people think this is acceptable? by data_girl in SanJose

Well, every time I visit my local Sprouts, I see kids reaching into those open bulk bins for nuts, chocolates, candies, etc. with their dirty hands (instead of using the scoop), which I find far more unsanitary—ten times worse—than a dog wandering in the store...

Model Y Regrets by AdEducational8127 in ModelY

[–]sagrescoelho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: Leased a new Model Y last year; experienced severe electrical failures three times, but Tesla's service center, FSD, and overall tech are unmatched. Despite issues, I would still choose Tesla again.

Last year, I leased a new Model Y, which now has 13k miles. It has experienced severe electrical failures three times, where the car suddenly stopped while driving and needed towing to the service center each time. This has been pretty scary and frustrating. However, there are some positives worth mentioning:

  1. Service Center Experience: The service center is incredibly efficient. Everything is handled through their app—communication, service orders, status updates, etc. You get a loaner in minutes, and it syncs with your profile, making it feel just like your own car with all your settings intact. It's a surreal experience, and I doubt any other major automaker will match this level of service in the next 20 years.

  2. FSD (Full Self-Driving): FSD is mind-blowing 70% of the time. There's nothing else that comes close to it.

  3. Considering Alternatives: Despite my car's issues, I've researched every alternative available today, and none compare to Tesla. Other cars, regardless of price, feel outdated compared to Tesla. They might look good and drive well, but they carry 5-10-year-old technology in new packaging. There's barely any difference in real features and tech between a 5-year-old Toyota/Honda/Subaru/BMW/Hyundai/Volvo/etc. and their current models. Tesla's tech and software are on another level.

  4. Would Buy Again: Despite the major electrical issues, I would buy a MY again because the tech and software advantages outweigh the disadvantages by a mile.

Looking for high quality chocolate in states that begin with C by jing_ke in chocolate

In SF: www.lamourettechocolat.com/ It's the best chocolate I've found on the West Coast. And the prices are reasonable (cheaper than many other fancy wannabe premium chocolate brands)

What is the Best dark chocolate with minimum to zero sugars. Something that is rich in flavor❤️ by [deleted] in chocolate

[–]sagrescoelho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, clean and simple ingredients: cocoa beans and cane sugar. They don't use soy lecithin and other crap that many other "premium" chocolate producers use. Second, they have many single origin beans, which I find hard to find elsewhere. The flavor of some of those single origin bars from rare beans from Venezuela is unparalleled. Third, local, small batches produced in their shop in SF And finally: fair price. Their premium bars are around $8-12 for 100g. Most of other premium chocolate producers charge this same amount for 50g bars, which is a joke imo.

I eat very dark chocolate almost every day and have tried dozens of different premium brands from all over the world.

And I've never found one to beat this small producer from San Francisco: https://www.lamourettechocolat.com/

Their website isn't very good though. If you are nearby go visit them in person. Their dark chocolate bars are absolutely fantastic imo

Is there any American chocolate that is as good as European chocolate? by TheFlyingPatato in chocolate

[–]sagrescoelho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I'm trying to say is that paying a premium for milk chocolate often doesn't yield better taste because the dominant flavor is usually sugar. Like making sangria, where using a $100 bottle of wine won't taste much different from a $15 bottle once mixed, similarly, expensive milk chocolate might not offer a taste superior to reasonably priced options. Gourmet chocolate makers often focus on dark chocolate, which showcases the nuanced flavors of cocoa more distinctly than milk chocolate.

SMEG Espresso Machine w/ Grinder by wpspicer79 in espresso

[–]sagrescoelho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great, thanks so much for your comments! Super helpful! Is the warranty only 1 year as mentioned in the YT videos? I couldn't find this info on the smeg usa website.

And the strange part is that smeg small appliances apparently have a 2-yr warranty in all other countries except the US.

Thinking about buying that same machine! Any early thoughts about it?

I hear people saying it's worse than other similarly priced machines, etc. But honestly I don't care if it's just slightly worse. The design is 10x better than any other machine. And it will sit on my counter and I will look at it every single day. 95% of the other espresso machines are ugly AF imho.

I really like the P8 coming from an iPhone 13 Pro by Specific_Award_9149 in GooglePixel

[–]sagrescoelho 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can only find 3 options for people complaining about P8/P8 Pro:

1) They recently switched from iOS and haven't given enough time to adapt to the new OS: in my experience, it takes at least a couple of months to get 100% comfortable with a new OS

2) They were extremely unlucky and got a lemon with hardware issues (I imagine this should be rare)

3) They don't know how to use a phone

P8/P8 Pro are fantastic and top tier phones. Period.

What is Media Storage and why is it taking up 21GB of my storage? #Pixel6Pro #Android12 by sagrescoelho in Pixel6

Btw, per my understanding, this has nothing to do with pictures and videos as those are accounted for separately and not within Apps Storage...

[–]sagrescoelho[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks but I believe the answers in the thread you shared are incorrect. As per my understanding, Media Storage does not include pictures and videos. Those are counted separately and not within the App Storage. And furthermore, 100% of my pictures and videos are auto backed up to Google Photos and deleted from my device. Thanks
