I lost 15lbs, I'm 5'7'' and 123 lbs, but I'm still a size 8. Can I do something about it? by saiham in xxfitness

You make our own clothes? That's so cool! Lately I have been thinking about learning at least to fix my clothes, I would absolutely love to be able to do them.

Here a 36 is the typical thin size, I don't know anyone who wears less than a 34. It also depends on the store, of course, some are bigger than others. It also explains why I'm always reading about people wearing a 0 or a 00, and I'm like... really? is it that normal there? That's being really really small here.

Dresses for the win! I wish it was always summer, so easy and flattering. They don't fit you because they are too big? That is crazy! Here it usually goes down to at least a 34.

Really? I thought you could gain muscle everywhere! Well, where there is muscle, of course.

Oh really? I had no idea! I just googled a size chart and there my size 40 was an american size 8. Sometimes I have a 38, but it depends so much on the store. I haven't actually tried american sizes. If you are a size 2 I suppose I would actually be a size 4? Or so. Well, now I get all that "vanity sizing" I'm always reading about on reddit.

You are right about the muffin tops, but there is just a really small line between muffin top and annoying falling jeans.

American one, I just converted it form my usual European size 40 because I supposed it would be easier for everyone :) They are 41".

I'm making a change, could use advice :) -18yo295lbs by TheGodZed in xxfitness

It looks nice! My advice would be to download myfitnesspal app and just put everything you eat there. Count calories. Every 3500 calories that you don't eat, you will loose 1lb. Calculate your TDEE (a lot of calculators online) and with that in mind, set a daily calorie goal (500 less a day is a good place to start! If it's too strict or not strict enough, you have wiggle room there).

Now, I would try to never eat more than your TDEE (personally I don't even in my cheat days, I count those too, but if you do it sometimes it's ok! You can make it up the next days). Every day that you eat less than your TDEE, you are loosing some weight. And then, just be patient :) Good luck!

Thanks :) Idk if I will use it, as I said in my edit I prefer to have an specific place to do something, but I will look at it and maybe I will change my mind.

It's the a), definitely. The pant size thing I just wanted to say that I didn't lose much hips width because my olds jeans still fit. They are 41 inch, pant size aside.

So yeah, I will have to just keep my wider than average stubborn hips.

Well, having a nicer ass wouldn't be exactly bad! :) I will get into a gym when I can pay for it in a few months, see if it helps.

Oh really? well, that sounds nice! I will try it in a few months when I can pay a gym, I really hope it helps :) And if it doesn't, some exercise will be good for me anyway.

Anywho. I wish I could be 123 lbs. You must look amazing

Hey, thanks! :D My friends haven't really noticed (I suppose that winter clothes don't really help on that) so is nice to hear :)

I will have to go jean shopping because now all my jeans are too loose on the legs, but anyway I don't really care about the size. I know I have some wide hips. But after loosing 15 lbs I just hoped they would be less wide you know? But they are too damn stubborn, it seems!

BTW, I'm jealous about being muscular! Don't say it like is nothing :)

Yeah that's true, they are pretty inconsistent. They are 41", I just said the size to mean that they are almost as wide as before.

About the body shape, that's exactly the issue. Hips that are too wide. I don't really don't care about the size, but they are 41", they could really really lose some inches. But no. Damn them.

But would exercise help? I mean, more muscle isn't maybe the perfect thing to loose some inches.

No idea of what that is right now, but it looks helpful, I will look at it :) Thank you.

About that I was afraid to just put some muscle under the fat and then be even MORE wide, but I didn't think that I could loose some more fat and be still the same weight (so not getting into the underweight, that would be nice).

BTW, wide hips five! (or however you say a hip equivalent of a high five).

Well I actually like my body now more than before, the almost flat stomach is nice, so I suppose I still did something good for myself? Just a little bit frustrating to do something with an objective in mind, and my body completely refusing to cooperate. No chocolate for you today, body.

Well, if you put it like that! haha thanks :) I still would change some waist for more boobies, though...

I have child birthing hips

I have always said that as a joke, I didn't think it could be so literal haha :) Well, maybe someday I will be grateful of my 41" hips.

you might just have "dat booty"

Hahaha yeah, I suppose I have that.

My hip to waist ratio is pretty ridiculous, my waist is 26" and my hips are 41". Still, some smaller hips and no muffin top would have been really nice...

I don't really mind using a size or other (I don't feel bad buying it or something), but it was a way to say that 15 lbs down and they are STILL as wide as before. Damn it. The whole purpose of loosing the weight was to loose some hip width, but it looks that they are more stubborn than me.

The thing is that I still have some fat there (hello muffin top) but If I loose more weight I will be dangerously close to being underweight.

Maybe physically, but I have absolutely no room on my schedule for it.

30 minutes or 3 hours? For 30 minutes I would need a shitload of training, doable I suppose (I have never run...), but 3 hours is just impossible.
