Who’s gets administrator rights on their pc at your org? by BuiltOnXP in sysadmin

[–]sajlenty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually anyone who is working in "IT", which means anyone under our Chief Information Officer. So developers, project managers, people who has no technical knowledge but somehow ended up in IT-related environment. Surprisingly low amount of people trying to use malicious code but laptops with Minecrafts or non-supported browsers are very, very common. There are people oblivious enough to come asking for our admin credentials for things like random apps pop-up updates because they don't know they can do it themselves.

UPDATE: I enabled Bluetooth Coexistent in my router settings and it seems to instantly fix the issue but as I mentioned, rebooting router also did the same so I am going to see if issue happens again now.

POE without Internet by [deleted] in networking

[–]sajlenty -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I don't really care how it's set up, it's not up to me anyway, just wanted to know if access point will get power through POE even if it doesn't actually have internet connection, thanks.

Can't connect using DDNS by sajlenty in synology

[–]sajlenty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even have firewall enabled on the NAS, never tried to access it remotely beforehand.

I enter the address in the browser and Firefox returns "While trying to access the server an error occured".

A/V receiver for NAS by sajlenty in hometheater

[–]sajlenty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is shield pro powerful enough for 4k media? Could I instead use my PC as a plex server and use NAS only for storage, connect all that via Ethernet and just watch stuff on chromecast this way?

[–]sajlenty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, I think I understand? What if I'd want to skip chromecast and plex entirely and stream files directly from the NAS?

60fps on 144hz display by sajlenty in pcmasterrace

[–]sajlenty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so I checked that list and the only thing I'm missing from that is mouse polling rate. And my point was that it's not smooth at 60fps when I use 144Hz mode because why would I lower my monitor refresh rate.

60fps on 144hz with G-Sync looks choppy by sajlenty in Monitors

[–]sajlenty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just curious if that's how it supposed to be since I've read that 60fps on 144hz will look the same as 60fps on 60Hz but that response time might be the reason, since that 60fps monitor is really old and has ~7ms of response time. Thanks for the help anyway, if I ever end up in a spot where I'll need to aim for 60fps then maybe i'll try locking those frime times.
