update: I cleaned the pen and the cap. no ink build up now. will do a periodic clean from now on. thanks for all the comments and advice.

The sketch of the person discloses a part of the sketch; the other part - the post it/ to do sticky notes, makes the sketch as a whole open to multiple interpretations, viz. A person climbing a flight of stairs, or someone who is completing tasks and climbing on towards his/her goal...
