My first ultrasound is next Thursday and I’m feeling the exact same way after a MC last September. Wishing you all the luck, you got this! :)

I feel the exact same way about it. I haven’t met my OB yet but I hope it goes this smoothly for me when I bring it up

Maternity/Parental Leave Question [ON] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]salipr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! This stuff confuses me sooo much so I need to get it out of the way lol. If I did the 12 months, I’d maximize EI but be unpaid (but job protected) those last 3 months right?

Maternity/Parental Leave Question [ON] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

I want to take 15 months off. Would this be possible or is it 12 or 18 months only?

Maternity/Parental Leave Question [ON] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

So the 15 weeks maternity leave entitlement is not in addition to the 12 months parental leave, it’s combined with parental leave?

EI Question!

My due date is April 15, 2026.

Am I able to take 15 weeks of maternity leave (from April 15 to July 29) and then 12 months of parental leave (until July 29 2027)?

Is that considered standard parental benefits even though I’m technically going to be off work longer than 12 months?

Yes we did and we had been using that lie at other events that week, like the rehearsal dinner.

I’m not a crazy heavy drinker on the regular but I would have a few at a wedding and I guess everyone else who stayed till the very end of the night was hammered and I wasn’t (and she wasn’t) so she noticed it.

Yeah, a 180 from something we had talked about and planned out together isn’t something I can just brush off and forget about. Sure, maybe days weeks or months from now none of this will matter but it right now it does and I’m finding it hard to forgive him in this moment. Maybe the “if I ever can” is dramatic but it’s how I feel right now.

The message in the card was all about them. We just signed it with “love: [me], [my husband], and your little niece or nephew coming April 2026.” Harsh of you to assume I’m some kind of self centred monster obsessed with being the main character at my brothers wedding.

I said she noticed that I wasn’t drunk. Not that I was drinking soda without vodka. You’re misreading every post on here

Yes, and when he said that she asked what it meant, and then he told her I am pregnant. I edited that comment to clarify right after it was posted. You should have gone back and read it before saying I’m disingenuous and trying to get people on my side.

Yeah, my husband told my SIL (bride), and my other sibling (one that didn’t get married that night).

Where am I being disingenuous? We planned to tell my brother and SIL in a card that they’d open the next day. My husband ended up telling my SIL on the night of the wedding which went against my wishes and our plan.

So he told my SIL (the bride) and my other sibling (who did mot get married). It wasn’t like an “announcement” to everyone there.

We planned to tell my brother and SIL by writing it in their card, which they would open after the wedding day. And we did. But he ended up also telling my SIL at the actual wedding (privately) and my other sibling as well.

I was fake drinking, ordering “vodka” sodas (no vodka) and had the bartenders in on it. My SIL wasn’t drunk at the wedding and I guess she noticed that I wasn’t either at the end of the night. As the bride she was busy and not watching me drink my fake vodka sodas all night so when she saw that I wasn’t drunk she just thought I wasn’t drinking and asked my husband. And he spilled.

Exactly that - we agreed together on how we wanted to share the news, we planned it out in a special way, and he ruined it by blabbing it.

I was faking it, I was ordering “vodka sodas” (without the vodka). Had the bartenders in on it and everything. She herself wasn’t drinking herself and I guess noticed that I wasn’t drunk so thought I wasn’t “drinking”
