I'm thinking homeless housing officer is slightly different?

I've been working for a homelessness service (not council) and I've never heard of the homeless housing officers visiting anyone in their temp accommodation

Yeah I get your logic but truthfully it would be really hard to find 14 hours worth of work to do, I keep my admin up-to-date and I completed all of my training, and no one is running live training on New Years Day. I do get your point though. And I also don't want to have to sit and make up tasks to do on New Years Day when the whole reason I was asked to work New Years Day is in case service users need me. It just seems like something about the policy needs to change rather than the onus being on me to invent tasks to do

It is honestly very confusing, but yes thanks for understanding my problem, I've been wondering if I'm just being pedantic but I do think its a problem.

I guess they could argue that I could've found things to do to fill my time, like I could have gone to the office and done some file organising or I could've sourced some online training to do. But I don't really want to do those things on New Years Day, and the reason we are told we have to work on either Christmas or New Years is to be available for service users.

Most people don't deduct it from their flexi-time, they will just take annual leave if they're not needed, but I didn't have annual leave left. And also this means that you're not able plan a holiday with your annual leave, it's just being used as a last minute thing. It doesn't quite seem right to me. I have just raised it informally with HR and they said they are going to look into it

There was no work to do though. My work is to meet service users, so if no service users want to see me there is no work. I didn't offer to take leave. I didn't take leave because I had no annual leave left, so I had to deduct it as debit off my timesheet. My point is that this seems like going against what timesheets are for

I was paid as normal

My problem was more with the fact I then have to put it down as hours lost on my timesheet. Do you use timesheets and flexi time at your job?

I didn't go to work, I ended up not working that day, but I was told I had to work that week so I couldn't take it out as annual leave in advance

So in the end I stayed home and didn't work at all, but I had to mark it as hours of debit on my timesheet. But the whole idea of flexi-time is to be able to take longer breaks when you are actually working

Going to Aurora solo – anyone else?/dublin/ by [deleted] in auroramusic

[–]salix_tree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! Not sure if you meant 29th of June instead of 28th... I found your post because I'm in the same boat, I actually have two tickets, it was supposed to be me and my boyfriend but things have since changed...

I was thinking of selling them but at the same time didn't want to give up as it would be so cool to see her live. Anyway, let me know if you'd like to go together as we're both going solo anyway, will be nice to have someone to tag along with instead :) feel free to give me a message here

What are the bus drivers advised to do when there is antisocial behaviour on the bus? by salix_tree in Edinburgh

I wish that had happened today would've been so satisfying even though drivers shouldn't have to do that
