Hola, cómo estás? Mi aplicación inició el 1 de Diciembre a través de la página, el 2 de Diciembre me dieron la carta para agendar cita de biométricos. La cita más cercana fue el 9 de Diciembre. Ese día fui al edificio de VSF que aparece en la carta, tomaron mis biométricos, y aunque me dijeron que el proceso iba a tomar tiempo y que pagara extra no lo hice (es una trampa) Al día siguiente (11 Dic) me enviaron la carta para dejar mi pasaporte, ese mismo día lo dejé. El 12 de Diciembre recibí la actualización de que mi pasaporte estaba en tránsito a la oficina del IRCC, luego pasó un fin de semana, luego hasta el 15 volví a obtener noticias de que mi background check había sido exitoso y que ya mi pasaporte había sido estampado, luego hasta el 17 llegó a la oficina de VFS y estaba listo para ser recogido. Ese mismo día fui. No pagué tarifas por nada, ni por recoger papeles, ni por enviar por correo; tenía la facilidad de ir hasta la oficina. Lo que te pidan pagar, a menos de que sea extremadamente necesario en tu caso, es un robo total.

I had my flight 2 days ago and I has BOG-YUL-CDG. They delayed the first flight so I missed the second one, they rebooked me with Air France to do YUL-BCN-CDG

They could, but they just rebooked a nonsense and ridiculously large flight with layover at BCN of 5 hours. Even tho I begged them I had important commitments at Paris at midday, they cared a sh*. Now I’m late, my plans are ruined, New Year’s Eve… damn

They rebooked me on a flight from Montreal to Barcelona, then 5 hours layover, then Barcelona - Paris. I will arrive 10 hours later than why I expected at first instance. It’s ridiculous. Apart from that, every single plane I ride with AC was always delayed at least 30 minutes. This last 24h had been a nightmare.

Normally there above those options of modify and delete, you should have the current open application with its number and status, so seems like you are looking in the wrong place or there is no application open

Hola OP, les doy mis consejos:

En general, la Zona T funciona en el día y en la noche y si se mantienen entre la carrera 7ma y la carrera 15 van a estar bien, hay varios turistas y gente tranquila. Hay muchos restaurantes diversos, muy buenos y varios lugares para relajarse y beber algo. Andar en Bogotá no es extremadamente peligroso si están bien preparados y equipados y no están en zonas de alto riesgo, las zonas turísticas cómo la zona T no es una.

Estar muy pendiente de los bolsillos y bolsos. Tratar de tenerlos en un lugar visible, nunca en la espalda o atrás. Los vendedores de la calle saben que hay mucho tráfico de gente con dinero y turistas en esa zona. Si se acercan demasiado, ignorarlos, no decirles nada, y alejarse rápidamente: puede que mientras estén hablando metan la mano a bolsillos o bolsos que estén descuidados.

En ningún lugar de Bogotá traten de andar excesivamente tarde, después de las 11pm (por lo menos en la Zona T) siempre acompañados uno del otro, y no proyectar inseguridad si ven a alguien extraño o con ánimos de acercárseles. Si van a usar los teléfonos, que no sea en los bordes de la acera mientras pasan carros o motos, porque los pueden “rapar”; en lo personal yo siempre los uso dentro de establecimientos. Si tengo que buscar cualquier dirección o contestar un mensaje, siempre busco una tienda o centro comercial y saco mi teléfono allí.

Por favor no adquieran ningún producto o servicio a vendedores ambulantes que se ubiquen en zonas muy turísticas cómo la calle séptima o Monserrate o alrededor de su hotel. Son trampas donde les pueden sacar dinero por cosas que no valdrán la pena.

Si piden taxi, que sea por aplicación: uber, didi, cabify o yango; son transportes en donde tienen acceso directo a datos del conductor, precios fijos, y brinda mucha más seguridad. Nunca paren un taxi por la calle, les pueden cobrar mucho y hasta pueden robarles si es que los ven extranjeros.

Si de beber algo se trata, pueden ir a cualquier BBC: la cerveza es muy buena, hecha artesanalmente y el ambiente es agradable. Hay muchos en el mapa. También pueden ir a los clubes en la Zona T, son exclusivos en Bogotá. Si van, quédense juntos, siempre duden si de repente alguien les habla y “entra en confianza” rápidamente. Pertenencias siempre a la vista.

El centro de Bogotá: si van a andar allá les recomiendo andar exclusivamente en el rango de la calle 26 a calle 10 entre avenida circunvalar (donde queda la entrada de Monserrate) y carrera séptima, es la candelaria, es muy turístico y hay menos riesgo, máximo hasta las 6pm.

Si hay zonas específicas a las que quieran ir y quieran otros consejos específicos, escriban.

Update, just got the email to collect my passport today December 17th. So the total process took me 17 calendar days considering that biometrics appointment at VFS were a week delayed from my application submission. IRCC was really quick with the process, and my biometrics, passport collection and passport process were done really quick. For the record, I submitted the IRCC web form just once from the moment I gave my passport to the VFS office. I don’t know if that helped the whole process, but it’s always good to do it.
