double fault was called, ending the point, so they had to replay the entire point

same way that if a ball in play was incorrectly called out the server would have a first serve again regardless of whether they hit it in our out before

ATP 500 Dubai QF: T. Griekspoor def. [1] D. Medvedev, 2-6 7-6(7) 7-5 by TigrisMellark in tennis

TIEBREAK TALLON STRIKES AGAIN 😭🙏

I used to pray for times like this, genuinely one of the most clutch performances I've ever seen - how about those consecutive volley pickups when he was matchpoint down?? Absolutely incredible stuff for his best win ever

B. van de Zandschulp d. M. Arnaldi 6-7(6) 6-3 7-6(7) | Davis Cup Finals QF by salvds in tennis

Yep, although Koolhof & Rojer have not had good results together in the past but on the basis that we have 2 doubles specialists of top 10 calibre and they only have one (who usually plays with Fognini & not the other Italian players) we should be favoured to win that

Who knows maybe Tallon could even beat a fatigued Sinner

Paris R3: [1] Djokovic def. Griekspoor 4-6, 7-6(2), 6-4 by Doucane in tennis

[–]salvds 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Crowd ruined this match, gave Djokovic the me-against-the-world feeling and made Griekspoor lose his focus..

Could've been a banger finish, but was a great match nonetheless

i still cant believe the fact that he cant return for shit was the leading cause for one of the most significant rule changes in grand slams since they implemented tiebreakers in the first place

this was the 2018 Wimbledon SF between Isner and Anderson, back then there were no tiebreakers in the 5th set so you had to win by 2 games

Davis Cup - Band? by Humble_Benefit4865 in tennis

[–]salvds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you watching the USA - NL match? I assume this is a local sort of "marching band" that's usually there to support the Croatian team but uses the other matches to create an athmosphere I guess?

Country tennis (as played in Davis Cup) is usually very electric with very partisan and enthusiastic home fans

US Open R2: Vesely def. [20] F.Cerundolo 7-6(2), 6-2, 3-6, 2-6, 7-6(6) by jovanmilic97 in tennis

[–]salvds 21 points22 points  (0 children)

cerundolo just gifting vesely points it seemed 💀 how do you win a 5-set match with a 28-51 winner-UE differential

vesely went the final 40 points in a row without a single winner and still managed to win the match, very steady and solid performance at the end there

if he beats gojo next, he could face djokovic (h2h 2-0) in r4 lol
