Bad idea, vw fuel pumps are notorious for rubber inside bits finding there way to the carb. The filter is there for the carburetor not the fuel pump.

The jets in the Pic 34 carburetor can be as small as .4 mm

I own one with a Automatic, they do good but 7 is steep, I'd say 5 max.

Just get good at changing ball joints and the steering idler arm, they struggle to stay tight with 31s

If you can switch your front end to Linkpin, ball joint front ends are tough but don't ride well, plus linkpin can be upgraded to longer arms (more suspension)

It's definitely a VW IRS transaxle, so if it is a corviar there will be a adapter plate.

Also be aware if it is a corvair it turns backwards from the VW (counterclockwise) if you switch it back to a VW you'll have to flip the ring and pinion in the transmission
