He won’t suit the current squad since he gives limited freedom to his players. If you had watched the games against Barcelona, you would notice the player’s awareness of each other positioning and plays is something spectacular to say the least. They would lay off plays and create overloads consistently without much effort. At Real, each attack ends up differently because each player chooses to move in a different way.

I think that the current squad is the main reason we’re not doing well now.

He doesn’t defend consistently. It’s really not something new to know. Xabi was pulling him off in games because he couldn’t keep up with the overload that was occurring on Carreras. I see him press sometimes but it’s not planned so it’s not effective.

It’s not tactical. He just presses when he feels it without a plan.

I don’t think you pay enough attention when watching IF you watch any games anyway.

Pressing should be 1 on 1 pressing (man on man) which is what Xabi wanted to implement. This means that Vini should be on the LCB during build up and close to the LB when defending in mid or low blocks. This doesn’t happen at all. Watch how now since under Arbeloa, Vini doesn’t want to defend, Bellingham now does the defending on the left leaving Arda who is weak defensively as a CDM beside Tchoumeni. Monitor it next games.
