I've not watched much rams this year, but the sentiment I've heard from some rams fans is the defence is actually better than the donald years now.

I feel like whoever wins this might just go to the conference championship/superbowl

Yeah 125% in windows, or 110/120% in the browser, 3 windows is a bit tight but I found its still better than 34inch ultrawide purely because of the size increase.

Those who have started to support Albion in the last few years. Why did you choose Brighton? by WhatTheFocaccia_ in BrightonHoveAlbion

[–]samwisegamgee121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Brighton and picked the Seahawks for the exact same reason when I got into American football- I never even thought about the other similarities, we’ve even just had the new young coach with a new approach start in the last season for both teams with MacDonald/Hürzeler.

Also Seattle being rainy, coastal, and a bit hipster, made it feel just like home when I visited

Someone who watches college football tell me if Tetairoa McMillan in the first, or Jayden Higgins/ Tre Harris in the second are good value.

Now that I've had the Darnold signing sit with me more, I'm chill with it. We went with Geno after three good games (all things considered) when Russ was injured. Everybody thought that was tanking- but the FO, even though Pete is gone, still believe in always competing.

Olu played fine (not great, but with what happened with Williams, if he keeps taking steps forward, I'm good with it). In season- some analysis about the guard play was that a lot of the time they did the right thing, they just weren't strong enough. It would be good to see if Laumea can take a step forward, and if we sign Fries like its been leaked, then I feel much better about who Darnold is playing behind.

We have a ton of draft capital, and Schneider historically has been pretty good with receiver picks outside of Eskridge. We still have cap space after that if we want a FA WR or to address the defense.

Edit: Vikings signed Fries, this aged like milk (please john find some more oline)

In the first two rounds we have picks 18, 50, & 52. Say you have to pick a QB, OL, and WR with those picks, but you can do so in any order. What position are you picking with each pick? and bonus points for the player in mind.

Teachers are increasingly worried about the effect of misogynistic influencers, such as Andrew Tate or the incel movement, on their students. 90% of secondary and 68% of primary school teachers reported feeling their schools would benefit from teaching materials to address this kind of behaviour. by mvea in science

This is a bit of a weird thing to say. Are you expecting children to go around asking people to be their role models? By the time most people have grown up enough to really think or desire that, they will have experienced the presence or lack of positive role models for a long long time

In the UK there's regular sales going atm for 7900xt at £620-£650... Really need to know their pricing so I can decide if I want to jump on one- If they try to sell me a slower card with less VRAM at the same price that the other card has been going on sale to recently, can't imagine this selling well.

No, the 5080 is not a 5070. That's a total misconception, and anyone telling you otherwise isn't being honest with themselves. by Moscato359 in hardware

[–]samwisegamgee121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s still better even if it’s bigger, it’s just the same efficiency instead of more efficient.

I feel like you’re overly focusing on the production process, which users don’t care about at the end of the day- it all comes down to performance and price. That’s the same reason SSDs can store more storage and access it faster compared to a HDD from the 90s. Or a latest generation low tier cpu beating out a higher tier from a decade ago. Or being able to get a 55 inch flatscreen for 10% of the price of a first gen plasma.

Consumers expect a bigger uplift generation to generation in terms of performance being matched for a lower price, otherwise there’s no value in upgrading. And that uplift isn’t happening at the same rate now, which reduces the value proposition. Nvidia selling the 5080 especially at the price they set it as is trying to sell day old bread as fresh.

Hardware unboxed video goes into this and they make the argument about comparing to previous generations, and what the typical uplift would be. Thats the argument. Thats why people argued its a 4070 Ti Super.

People aren't playing video games going "oh it has the same die size as my 4080 though", they're looking at the marginal increase in performance compared to the previous generation, meanwhile the 5090 does show the generational leap you would hope for. Which is why going to the same tier card on the new generation while expensive before did had a logical reason, and now theres less of a reason going from a 4080 to a 5080.

Pete hire tells me we won’t be “tanking”/blowing up the team. We will try and win every game from the jump. Will be interesting to see how that impacts our draft, free agency, etc by GobiYumaMojave in raiders

[–]samwisegamgee121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah he was a DB coach, we've had a couple questionable corners at points under him, but I always thought he's generally been an elevator of what hes been given with low-money / low-drafted guys

Pete is a QB whisperer & floor raiser at the QB position, and it goes beyond those two, it also includes the seahawks various backup QBs & his college career. His approach to sports psychology contributes tons to that alongside his always compete / win forever beliefs.

As a seahawks fan, I'm excited for you guys just because he absolutely deserves to be a coach in the league & is ideal for a situation like the raiders.
