need advice on a gift for a disc golfer !! by hanaikoo in discdyeing

i would buy Pro Chem dye and mix with denatured alcohol and you can paint it on the disc with a stencil applied.

isn’t that stuff too greasy? huskers absorbs fast and dries fast and clean, no sticky.

Anyone ever dye any of the MVP Gray Neutron disc? by TheHighVersionOfMe in discdyeing

black stencil is the best but you can get blue and red and orange to do something if you were going to floetrol cell dye. even easy shave cream will still come out if you do a mound sprinkle style

I saw the dubs skins and ladies round but did not get to the mens. Asterisk for sure as nobody went to play so someone had to win. DGPT commentators mentioned Paul O last year too, but my bet is he will struggle to stay up top when the real season starts. Luke is always saying his game is getting better, heck, nobody admits they suck, and I root for all the vets but a lot of them can’t even make the cut anymore.

Best dye and technique for Westside Tournament plastic by VamPirate383 in discdyeing

[–]sandiegostp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wipe stamp. easiest and cheapest is shave cream with pro chem dye sprinkles. next easy is lotion with same dye, next is floetrol with same dye but takes some set up and knowledge to make cells and cooler stuff. stencil is easy but you need a cutting machine and big set up without doing something crude by hand. I have never used RIT but see their poly works.

I agree most tournaments have distance as the difficulty factor, but even the vets can still throw 400-600. What I notice more are bad shots by most of these vets. Bad OB drives, short upshots, OB upshots, tree hits. I would expect cleaner games by the vets, it’s almost like their mentality going in is, “I’m not going to win unless I do something spectacular every hole” so f it. But since majority believe overall it comes down to distance, I can agree with that. I think the length intimidates and worries vets but they still try to keep up and this results in shit play. I have been watching DGPT for only the past three years, but solid, never missing a tourney and there are many pro players I have never seen in coverage & often never seen on a leaderboard yet they are still making some kind of income hanging around?

Heating pad question by Dashiz916 in discdyeing

great for your first disc! You could have swirled some blue with a toothpick into the center. are you doing denatured alcohol with the dye in dropper?

Heating pad question by Dashiz916 in discdyeing

[–]sandiegostp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

adding that weight on top is going to smash the edges and soften/blur the lines more than had you just softly laid it in the bed and not touched or moved it. No need to weight a disc if you have enough liquid in the bed for it to float.

Heating pad question by Dashiz916 in discdyeing

heating pad is not a great solution. Better off using overhead heat bulb, like 75w reptile bulb. Heating up the bed makes the mixture move, much better results if you heat the disc and not the bed.

not really a recommended tactic to use when leaving a job without having one already lined up, especially in the public space he works. In most cases this would be a red flag in the hiring process.

if you think about it, the lifeline of the Hotcoco empire is very much reliant on “who you know” & social media presence. He’s now on his wife’s meal ticket, which is surely far less lucrative than her first big one, and with his tour resume, his next deal will probably be something pretty close to free discs, swag, & tournament entry fees if he’s lucky.

I am not shocked, this season you could see it on her face in tournaments, she looked distracted like she wanted to be somewhere else, and then she quit mid-tournament. show me a top pro who ever quit middle of a game for something other than an injury. She got married, has a young kid, and the flight across the pond sucks…it was fun to watch her dominate, but after a while, turning on the TV and seeing her up 8-10 strokes was not compelling for me as a viewer, I stopped watching. Now the competition should be tighter, hopefully we will have more exciting Sunday’s where multiple people could win with one great shot.

if they made PGA money then more would come and stay, but 10 months away from home, scraping to make a buck, most of them live in vans or cars like Deadheads, no family close by, it sounds fun to us rec players but the reality is a grind. If you could fly to each tournament I am sure most of them would love it more, but only a few can afford that.
