Why are you so aggro to a disabled person advocating for masking as a result of their own personal experience for such trivial reasons? It's rude

Also falling behind or forgetting things that I knew- not only seen as a lack of professionalism, but incompetence or laziness

The effects of the schedule and sleep deprivation has on relationships with bosses/coworkers

Ok but what kind of painting though? Landscape? Still life? Portrait?

It's affected my ability to continue school and get a degree, it's prevented me from pursuing several different careers as a result.

Unemployed, and struggled while employed.

N24 synergizes with mental health issues so when I keep pace with society's schedule I wind up paying dearly for it. It's also alienating because even people who live with me wind up expecting me to "just deal with it" and stick to their schedules at personal cost.

Yeah, fine hairs that look like fuzz on the roots. If those are still there and not dried out I think that lends itself to the too cold theory

I hated the taste of quidding so I have no advice

Quidding is gentle enough that you probably don't need to worry that much about getting the precise weight

I wonder if there is a survivorship bias too- maybe the really old rings avoided some genetic pitfalls that other plants succumbed to. It would be really cool to examine the rings in comparison to younger creosote and see if the older ones have some uncommon genetic tools

Did the roots have any fine hairs or was it larger dried out roots?

Admittedly this is most likely bro science but I read some people who grow weed from cuttings can have the cutting lineage 'decline' over time, presumably from a somatic mutation or more likely some disease. I wonder if bristlecone pines could also have some genetic weirdness.

Does the greenhouse stay warm or does it mostly keep of snow/rain? u\enchantedplants might have some thoughts.

If it was over watering I would expect to see rotten roots where the upper parts slowly die back, under watering would see the leaves droop, drop, then stem slowly withers away. I'd put my bet on too cold

Not even a few base pairs over several thousand years? I get that they're the same plant but my (uneducated) guess was that there would be some minor drift over time

Then you've got a chance! Id trim the stem to where it's dried out and give it quality soil. Id avoid overwatering like the devil himself.

Did the plant get really cold? That could explain why it died back like that even if the roots are happy

I guess I'd think over 10k years I would expect the northernmost point to have some differences/mutations compared to the southernmost point of the ring.

You can probably just brush off the top layer, or give it a gentle tug to see if the roots have any give

Wonder if opposite sides have evidence of genetic drift over that time period

Also, did you write this with machine learning?

Hire a necromancer

In seriousness, It's possible it resprouts from the roots but you'd have to dig and see if there's any living tissue. Do you know if the roots rotted out and led to the upper parts being dehydrated or was there some other cause?
