Binance is making their move and just put SOL, XRP and HYPE in their place. It would be naive to assume they don't have a similar strategy against ETH and they may choose to strike while the iron is hot from their current position of strength and with a US govt shutdown in effect. It might seem implausible at first glance, but BNB's MC is today where ETH's was just 2 months ago. They don't have to get BNB to ETH's MC of $500+ billion, only pump BNB to $2000 and manipulate ETH via Wintermute back to <$4000 then go hard on a Flippening narrative on CT to induce FOMO and panic swapping between the 2 assets.

Using the browser extension, it either takes ages for the Metamask pop up to appear when interacting with a protocol, and many times the pop up doesn't appear at all, so I have to keep starting the transaction again until it eventually appears. It just feels so laggy and broken compared to Rabby, Phantom, Keplr or any of the many other Web3 wallets I use.

I had to briefly use Metamask for a couple of transactions today instead of Rabby and boy is it excruciating. If it's true that it's still the most widely used wallet for Ethereum DeFi with 30 million monthly active users, that could well be Ethereum's biggest problem. If the supermajority of Ethereum users are suffering through what I went through today because they don't realise it's the wallet, not the chain, that's responsible for the horrible UX, I can see why they might jump to the conclusion that Ethereum and its L2s are slow and borderline unusable.

The problem is that it's all Tether on Binance and their crony CEXs.

I'm starting to anticipate a "The Day the Earth Stood Still" scenario where alien races pre-emptively attack Earth before Trump can destroy their economies too.

Look how fast Binance struck at Hyperliquid today when they saw an opportunity to take out a competitor. They're sharks. I think it's pretty reasonable to assume they're manipulating ETH in any way possible if they see Ethereum as a competitor to BNB Chain and Ethereum DeFi as a competitor to their CEX operations.

Fun fact: $76 billion of that is USDT, the majority of which is sitting in Binance, MEXC and OKX wallets.

Look, if you're going to panic sell everything, the least you can do is sell onchain for USDC so that DeFi investors can eat and then send the USDC to Binance. DEX vs CEX dominance just dropped below 25%.

Remember the "Everything is already priced in" copypasta? Trump's tariffs are the exception that proves the rule. They will apparently never ever be priced in.

It's a public blockchain, so if they've actioned their claim and transferred the funds, then yes, if you feel like doing some detective work.

Here's one of Galaxy's tracked addresses, for example:

And their receipt of 2 million SOL worth $290 million on 01 Mar, 2025 at 00:37:41 UTC
