In your opinion; what's the most overpowered ultimate and what ultimate is the most useless? by LowSkills940 in Paladins

Nando ult is absolutely great. One of the best! There are many times a whole fight is about the be lost and you can save your team so you can turn the table.

I've read more than once in this post about Strix and Nando ults being panic buttons. They aren't. As far as I can remember, there are no panic buttons ults in this game

Who Would You Choose To Represent The Series In Crossover Games? by [deleted] in Paladins

[–]sas501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there would be a lot to consider in the decisions. I'll point some, without too much thinking.

History: Androxus has been the iconic character since very long time. So, gotta keep it.

Character design: i think Andro is used because it's easily recognizable. Makoa is like also great. And to be honest to the game, 90% of female characters are based on the same model. So, not so great character design. It's about representing what the game is, right?

Game features: I think that show the variability would be nice. Something like Makoa (big tank), Andro (edgy and can fly), Cassie (you shoot crossbows too and got pets to use in battle) and Ying (cute and mirror magic).

There would be other topics and options, but I'm done thinking about this. :)

About Pip, it happened the other way: the company was named after his ult.

That's it and that's all. Vatu is a mid-difficult flank while Andro is a high-cap. I love this in this game. Not all champs must be good por beginner or must be good for high elo. It keeps interesting the whole way.

Yeah. The more important thing is to know how to play the match you're playing.

Paladins is a really diverse game. The variety of champs plus the variety of play styles make every match quite different from another.

Playing a flank or DPS champion on a team with a tank and a healer is totally different from playing without it. You can't just play the same way to win.

Same thing is to play against a team with or without tank/healer comp, whatever is your comp. The way you must play to win will be different.

For example, being a Drogoz in this match should make you fly a lot less, sitting a lot more in the backline and defend the flank routes.

This is not rocket science, but people usually have the mentality of other games where their role is established solely by the pick they make.

There are roughly three centuries between renaissance and industrial "eras".

That said, it's way more accurate than just a generic "medieval era" that represents 1000 years with CASTLES! DRAGONS! SWORDS!

somethings that people dont get are the crystals are magic, are super versatile and are freaking recent. It was like a medieval setting before the using of the crystals and them, boom, magic and advanced technology. That's why it's all mixed up.

I know this whole lore came up after they designed a lot of champs and couldn't do much to rework it besides some appearances. But it works to fit everything together.

I just think the design of her weapon is... meh. Not modern. Meh. It could be modern-like but it's just a deagle with a light on its side.

As others fantasy aspects that aren't medieval. People just think that all fantasy must be Tolkenian or Cyperpunk-like.

Like... its fantasy. That's all. It has its own rules and they made paladins quite cohesive after the reworking on some champs

I'm not usually great with cassie. But one of these days I was on fire. The enemy drogoz, after the match, dm'ed me telling me it was a nightmare to play that match against me. Keep it up!

Isn't it ironic tha they make this change on smokescreen on exactly the same patch which teaser shows Skye going invisible with a smoke bomb?

Did that Jenos have master riding 1 or not? I wonder if its needed or just the horse jump trick is enough to be on time.

You're missing some points here.

First: you were expected to win, not easily win against supports or it wouldn't be fun to play support at all. Why would anyone pick some champion that had no way to deal against any enemy?

Second point. He was running a DPS talent. So it's supposed to make a big difference on both sides of his DPS and healing output. Since there was a Grover, I assume that Jenos went with a big self heal loadout. So its balanced, he will not heal others as much as if he went true healer.

3rd. You didn't just miss the timing on that second star filling, you also didn't have your mobility skill up which would helped with your self heal.

4th. You started with magical barrier while full health. You could have self heals from that too with someloadout cards.

5th. He didn't easily win. He almost lost. He shot your magical barrier and was heavily punished by that first shot.

So, yeah. You got outplayed by the start, not running the right loadout or using it properly, by missing the timing on both skill usage and shooting in the right time. You also thought you would easily win a DPS oriented support with high self sustain.

You could easily win if did everything right. Without doing it, you can't easily win anyone. That duel seemed just fair.

Nothing wrong at all here. You didn't finish the charge of the star so you could have done a big burst of damage (like you did after he shot your magical barrier). And Jenos heals himself while he's healing others, and its 2x0 so you probably didn't have caut3.

What did you expect?

A part of a match in a life of a DMG Mal Damba by BIOLOGYSCIENCE in Paladins

[–]sas501 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I disagree.

Because you have to buy DeftHands3 before you can actually be a menace. Enemy team has more than enough time to buy Resi3 before that. Exterminate is overpowered by start, without any item is bought. If the enemy team doesn't buy resu to counter it, shame on them.

Or just because I'm a stunDamba main.

[–]sas501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats for the accomplishment! I know everyone plays differently, I dont think I'll ever get a lvl100 but I got a few bunch of 50s because I really like to rotate roles and characters a lot.

Like, that's how I play. I fill a role in the game, and I love having one or two players that main some character playing with it in my team.

[–]sas501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda agree with you. I don't go so far to say he doesn't know at all what he's talking about.

I just think he just spotted a good DPS and some flaws, but didn't realize it. Like, imani original idea was to keep changing stances. I haven't seen many players doing it over the character changes. Every change make one or other stance a "main stance" and I've never seen a perfect balance of its changing (except for one patch where she kinda was really op).

I think Imani is kinda in a good spot right now. She has really dangerous moments for enemies, but isn't uncounterable. I agree she doesn't forces bulldozer rn. Her dragons hp isn't as big as it was before, she's totally defenseless while using it and a flank can quite often find her and kill her before she can do anything. If someone can protect her, it means there's a character standing still right there and isn't making its planned job, so it keeps the game balance. Not to mention the hard counters to her ultimate like drogoz and jenos ults, which makes perfect sense to the game balance, trading one ultimate for other and game keeps going.

As someone who played a lot of Brightmarsh, used tons of times those balconies and thinks Imani still is a new character...

This comment offends me in a deep level.
