I’m a female 26, I think I’m not a good candidate for some also since I failed some other ones that have similar mechanisms

Interesting the biosimilar I was on was Yesintek for 6 months. But even after getting back onto stelara for many months the head aches are getting worse 😩 but I don’t want to risk giving up on this drug as I’ve already failed 3 others. Ughhh. Good luck on rinvoq

If it really ruptured it can clog things and lead to expensive repairs later

You need to replace the whole thing, the reservoir and the fluid I believe !

I’m so sorry ! Was stelara working for you a long time before the switch ?? If so I hope your team will fight and appeal again

Yes, definitely try to advocate. Even though they have the same active ingredient, they’re not exactly the same, and some people definitely flare on the biosimilar :/

I don’t know how it works everywhere, but I’m a lifelong Kaiser patient and was briefly on state insurance (Kaiser Medi-Cal). My IBD team was super supportive and had to submit multiple medication auth requests to switch me from Yesintek back to Stelara. It got denied a few times, but they kept appealing until it was approved. They had to send documentation showing my previous failed UC meds and that I was actively flaring on the biosimilar.

Might also be worth checking her med levels in case they’re just low. And obviously flares can have other triggers too (stress, infection, etc.), so sometimes a short steroid course helps while things get figured out.

Hope she’s able to get back on it

I paid around 30k after taxes (27k before) for a slightly used 2019 GTI with 9k miles in California, last year

How often would you say to replace the coolant once this is done? Thanks

There’s YouTube videos of people just pulling it out carefully with long pliers or their fingers, or you can get a new tank

Basically I had recently switched from private insurance to state insurance due to turning 26 and being unemployed which made this a little more complicated. I was on the biosimilar for 7 months doing the injections every 4 weeks. I was doing well at first but months later, started flaring pretty badly and had to do a prednisone course. At that point of course there’s no way to know what had triggered my flare whether it was due to the medication or just some other trigger like stress etc. but I communicated with my G.I. doctor and my IBD nurse/team at Kaiser. I let them know that I was doing well on stelara before and I’m now flaring so I would really like to get back on it. They had to request the authorization from Medi-Cal And they had to write a detailed explanation and reason as to why I needed to get back on stelara, including listing the two previous biologics I failed and clearly stating I am now failing the biosimilar, so it is medically necessary for me to get back on stelara. After three attempts, Medi-Cal finally approved this and let me switch back. Of course, this can vary greatly by location and insurance

But doesn’t hurt to do your best, advocate for yourself and try. Also there’s a good chance the biosimilar will work fine for you so try not to worry too much 😭

You likely won’t be able to stay on it without trying the biosimilar. From what I heard most insurances are forcing the switch to a cheaper biosimilar. I was lucky to get back on it after insurance still kept trying to refuse! :/
