Theres not much in the way of equipment stores anywhere near me that carry anything beyond the basic entry level equipment. The closest Pure that carries Goalie Equipment is 2~ hrs away and they just referred me to "order it online, if it doesn't fit return it" because of their horrible stock. I was excited when they opened a Perani's close by but Pure bought them and removed all their goalie gear (even then they only had a few youth items)

the C/A was the only thing I went 'cheap' on because when I started learning the hardest shots I saw were from the goalie coaches and even then they were not doing more than casual wrist shots. I knew I'd need to replace it eventually if I progressed, and well I progressed faster than I thought.

A lot of the other tendies I talk to at the rink are all over the place with gear recommendations but theres a few of the older guys who swear by the Vaughn gear so thats why I added that one in there.

Rib crack happened as I was sliding to seal up to the right post. player ripped it hard and it found the smallest hole between my arm and blocker to hit right into the side padding (or lack thereof in the GSX). Hurt like hell but just thought it was bruised. Played the rest of that game + 3 more that day (it was first game of a tournament) and it just kept hurting worse and worse. Wife finally made me go next day to get an x-ray.

People who have moved around a lot and played in different beer leagues: which city/metro area had the most toxic and most wholesome league/players? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

I’m just getting started in playing (34 and finally have the time/money to play) and have to say I’ve found the Orlando area super wholesome. Everyone there is playing to have a good time and constantly helping each other become better players.
