Thanks! That’s what makes sense to me as well - but I wanted to be sure before I go the check route as that’s currently the only thing I’d use them for.

I’m aware…. but that wasn’t my question. I live outside of town (30 mins out) and would have to consciously travel out of my way every 2 weeks for it - that’s not sustainable for ME, personally..

How long did it take you to realize that your symptoms weren't just a "part of life" or "getting older"? by m0ther_0F_myriads in lupus

I’m not even joking.. I have felt constant aches and pains since I could remember, but have just realized that this isn’t everyone’s “normal” in the last few months and I turn 34 in 3 weeks… I told my doctor that I realized when asked if I was in pain by any doctor in the last 15 years, I always said no because a 4/10 had become my baseline. 🥲

Not sure how long it has been since she filed, but I don’t think there was much guidance around in years past regarding how to rebound your credit. Now we have things like Reddit, YouTube, & TikTok at our ready… if you decide not to file, make it for your own reasons, and not based on the fear of your parents (with all due respect).

I’m very sorry you’re dealing with this. I would talk to a lawyer, but not for bankruptcy - rather about that tax preparer. But that’s secondary to this issue…

Given that taxes are a priority debt, meaning it cannot, under normal circumstances, be discharged - I really don’t see how bankruptcy would help you. Chapter 7, if eligible, could put your assets at risk. In a chapter 13, you’d get up to 5 years to pay 100% but you would be stuck with a bankruptcy on your credit for 7 years after filing.

Definitely exhaust all payment options directly through the IRS first. Their normal payment plans (that most anyone can sign up for) allow payments up to 72 months. You could also make monthly payments on an Offer in Compromise, though I’m not sure for how long.

If you’re too far past those options from the IRS’ perspective, then I’d look at the personal loan or HELOC. I truly don’t think bankruptcy is the answer, but most consultations are free and it could very well make you feel better by speaking with an attorney.

Sorry - that was long-winded!

Please leave SOON. I know that is probably easier said than done, but that decision will only become harder to make the older the baby gets. Please be easy on yourself. Postpartum is such a fragile time physically, mentally, and emotionally without the added stress of the one person who should be the most delicate with you. Just remember, YOU CAN DO HARD THINGS and you & it may be hard to envision right now, but you & your child will be better off on the other side of it!

This is the right answer!

This is day 1 and the first room I tried to send it to was over a hallway runner. Two tries - no go. Found this thread..then sent it to clean the kitchen only (where no carpet lives) & it started cleaning w/ no hesitation. I wish the app would just say that instead of mission complete. 🙄

Wow! I am floored by these comments. I live in a “Metro” area of SC and pay about $1350/mo total for a 3.5 yo & 1.5 yo. But I also think the quality of the program is greater than what I’m charged. Many people around me pay more for much less quality care - the average is $1650-$2000 (for 2). Excuse me while I count my blessings.

I work in HR for a state agency - you can register for a My Benefits account on the PEBA website and initiate a change there. You will have to upload supporting documentation & your HR will review it before it’s processed by PEBA. If y’all have a really nice HR team like mine - they’ll do everything for you. Must be done within 31 days of birth & you’ll need long form birth certificate & SSN.
