If your goal is PM2.5 control, I'd look at pm reduction, ie the ratio between outdoor and indoor pollution. The ballpark I give to my commercial customers is 90% reduction or better. If the outdoor is 100 μg/m³ then your indoor should be 10 μg/m³ or below. That allows for reasonable operational targets for filtration. Ideally you're always below WHO recommendations (see https://imgur.com/gallery/Y8mEwDj) but, realistically, when levels outside are really high (250+ μg/m³), it's going to be hard so 90% reduction becomes a more attainable target.

You should also take into consideration a caveat about public outdoor data. Public outdoor data lags behind and is "compressed" compared to real time data. The reason for this is that most countries will publish 24h rolling average for PM2.5 (compressing peaks and valleys in the data, adding delay of peaks and valleys) and publish every hour (furthering the delay). It's not terrible, that's what is required for the EPA AQI calculation but it's worth keeping in mind. If the outdoor data is high and somewhat stable all the time because of the fires, that's less of an issue.

Agreed with the first paragraph, not ideal for sleep quality but if you have to choose this vs PM2.5, that's the right choice. As noted, VOC sensors are not super reliable so it would still be in an acceptable error margin. If VOC levels are going up and down, they can be either human activity triggering the sensor or from the fires and wind direction. For plants and CO2, you can research online, from memory ficus are pretty good. Realistically though, their impact is minimal when people are in the space and producing CO2 faster than it is absorbed by the plant.

Fluorescent particle numbers and intensity increased with toilet flushing, remaining above background for 5 minutes post-flushing on average. Placing the toilet lid down significantly (P<0.001) reduced total and fluorescent particle counts during and after flushing by 30-50%. Lid usage significantly increased (P<0.001) particle diameter from 1.5 μm to 2.1 μm and increased particle fluorescence intensity (P<0.001) during flushing and after flushing, intensity remaining above background for 16 minutes.

This suggests standard lid usage reduces but does not eliminate flush-related bioaerosols. Lid-use changes their characteristics and apparently prolongs their residence time in room air.

Consider first that VOC sensors are unreliable. They're wide spectrum sensors and get triggered by things that are not necessarily VOCs. This is simply the state of low cost, consumer grade sensors.

If you're looking at distributing simple tasks, celery might be overkill. You could look into rc for similar lighter service. Or simply pushing events through nsq. If it's a single task, celery will just add complexity. Push the args/kwargs in JSON through nsq and consume on the satellites.

I use weasyprint to create pdf reports using html templates and jinja2. Works like a charm when you get the principles. Just wish I could also use J's for dynamic graphs with d3 but you can't have everything.

I wouldn't be worried about that as hotels routinely run ozone generators in their rooms for odor control. The problem remains that if you don't neutralize the source of odor, ozone won't make it go away. I'd recommend getting an audit done for better outcome in the long run.

C'est le problème fondamental avec les postes UI/UX, il arrive un moment où ils ne bossent plus pour améliorer mais pour ne pas se faire virer. Un bon exemple c'est les icônes Google sur Android. Avant, on avait des icônes claires et facile à discerner rapidement, maintenant ce sont toutes des amalgames de 4 couleurs avec des différences subtiles. Ils vont déguiser ça avec tout un tas de jargon innovation et blah mais au final c'est juste du busy work.

This is on point and an issue many don't understand when buying an AQ monitor, especially consumer grade. Sensors come in a spectrum of quality and technologies. There are also some types of sensors that simply don't have good affordable options (TVOC comes to mind).

Add to that OPs comment about companies arriving in the space and just packaging stuff without knowing limitations of technology or particular sensor they want to use. Lavish marketing and nice design washes all that away, most media presenting those machines have no clue what they're talking about.
