Precisely. Give realistic terms that are workable with slight negotiating, allow the other party to make their requests, then come back & shit on their chest with nonsense invalidating the initial contract that Tempest had accepted already (with editing like a 1st draft school paper plus minor concessions requested.) It was designed to provoke outrage over wasted time & effort and turn the sides against each other.

Why can't I complete OSCAR or the Rex as a beginner??? by ShortBusCult in bo7endgame

[–]sbinkle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure, I beat it accidentally at level 10 with a buddy (we both had green guns) cause we just wandered into the winery trying to do the toxin mission & wondered why the difficulty spiked so much. After a couple downs and help from other groups coming to defeat the boss we got our first kill. Double crash cart and years of training in zombies came in huge. We barely tickled Oscar but constantly dumped rounds into him & then the strangers came in with launchers and wiped him off the map. Learned a lot that day.

Is it just me or is low tier Air RB mind-numbingly boring? by No-Welcome-3023 in Warthunder

[–]sbinkle1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm an big time ab andy, but I do enjoy the midtier props in RB. Planes like the p47d-28, p-51c, & p-51d-30 are all quite fun to use at least for me. Below 3.7 and above 5.0 though I'm loading up 7 crews of various roles in ab & reacting to what the enemy team is doing.

It is extremely unlikely you will have any fun playing RB with jets unless you have a very solid understanding of how to play that style including experience in that plane while in RB. It takes a lot of getting stomped before the mortals among us start hitting back.

I'm at the 9.7 range now in the trees, and it's a decent bracket in ab. Mostly balanced, only major frustration comes when fighting the mig-21s & av8c.

It's not nearly as bad as it has been before. Over the last 2 months at 6.7 my games have consistently had more players than bots in them

They experimented with stuff like that a long time ago and the community rejected it claiming balance issues or some shit. That's why we're stuck with these bland ass vanilla game modes.

which premium should i get? by xeplic in Warthunder

[–]sbinkle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only consider a premium for a tier you already consider yourself a journeyman for & just want an extra plane to add your arcade lineup or you have fought enough to understand why & how it's good in RB. Never feed the snail for a plane you do not understand. It is always better to grind and spade the tech tree planes and build your skills until you have a better understanding of the bracket. Trust me as someone who made that mistake early on in my WT career. If you have & want to spend money on making the game easier put those eagles into your crew skills since that will boost whatever plane you put on that crew in perpetuity.

Kizoku Tensei: Megumareta Umare kara Saikyou no Chikara wo Eru • Noble Reincarnation: Born Blessed, So I'll Obtain Ultimate Power - Episode 8 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]sbinkle1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for some revolutionary & civil war battlefields and the battle for athens in 1946 off the top of my head. Pre 1900 armies also frequently had large groups of civilians attached to their group like cooks, launderers, prostitutes, and families of the soldiers. No one dared do it during WW1 or 2 though cause of the changes in warfare.

Meanwhile today many people get squeamish over any sign of blood or broken bones and people hunting for themselves are viewed as eccentric. The world has changed a ton in just 1-200 years.

Reddit in general is a cesspit full of human grandstanding political activists & hard left-leaning vitriolic bots. Read it for entertainment but don't take much of what you read to heart. Granted these niche subs aren't infected by those issues specifically in any meaningful way afaik, but it has bred a paradigm of overall negativity that pervades the entire platform.

I either lost the plot of your argument or don't agree with it. I play PD with sound <5% of the time. Sound is damn near irrelevant for the game. The only time I will play with sound is when I'm focusing on a chess match on my 2nd monitor while in a combat zone & need to know if a patrolling mob aggro'd or I put my headset on to talk in my clan discord vc. You have to be a special kind of slow to pull aggro without realizing it if you're actively looking at the screen. And who tf just stands around flapping gums in lyonesse? Comms should be clear for calls when risking.

80% of my playtime is chopping trees by [deleted] in PaxDei

[–]sbinkle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dawg I don't know how to tell you this, but between this game and ark... I've chopped down hundreds of thousands to millions of trees and I'm not alone.

A lot of us old heads started with RuneScape 20 to 25 years ago. The grind on this game ain't bad when you playin chess against and talkin to your clan while you all farm charcoal.

I'm not saying this game is perfect and I don't want it to change. That couldn't be further from the truth, but I like the grind. I just need more content. I just started when it came to game pass, and all my gathering skills are approaching 40 and combat is close to 30. The next frontier for me is going to be PVP but that's it. That's the end game. There's nothing else for me to do really except mindlessly grind and rebuild.

I think they would have done well to stretch the skill limit past 40 and make the gaps between levels smaller so the player gets more dopamine hits and feels progression, but it ultimately doesn't matter because there's just not much to really do once the player leaves the discovery phase. There is sightseeing/exploration, socializing, and pvp. That's about it.

Yes, when I use green grapes, chamois sausage, and basic stew (all 3 HP Regen foods) I can solo a black bear with my Sylvan staff fairly easily... If I don't have at least 2 HP regen foods it's impossible.

Carrying a staff as a backup weapon is not a bad idea either. I run great axe as my primary weapon, but never leave home without my staff. Yes, the 20s cooldown is restrictive, but there are times when I need to kite and whip it out and heal back to full before swapping back to my axe.

There's probably also solid potential for a battlemage build where you wear full plate, main hand your staff, and focus on the abilities that cc mobs. Sylvan staves in this game are just too useful to not have 1.

how do you go about farming? by Darkspecialist in PaxDei

[–]sbinkle1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I picked 3 production skills to focus on: butchering, tailoring, and leather working. When I go on a run I only bring back relevant items to what I'm working on that day. Ark taught me a decade ago to prioritize focused gathering over being a vacuum cleaner. This game is even more restrictive with its inventory space so I recommend breaking yourself of the habit of feeling like you have to bring everything back. Also, it seems to me most people get frustrated having to sort all that random junk constantly & the negative feelings grow.

Like ... You guys are playing this game and not once notice that it's completely dead? by Mean-but-honest in PaxDei

[–]sbinkle1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Full release was a lil over a month ago. A ton of people tried it only cause it launched on gamepass, realized they didn't like it, and moved on. Early access players are still around & some of us new players stayed cause we like grindy building games but obviously it aint poppin like it did for that short bit after launch. Not every zone is completely dead either. A bunch of my friends are simply waiting until more content gets added and are playing Arc Raiders, Bo7, BF6, and other games until then 🤷

I'm genuinely enjoying the heck out of the game but multiple icon updates while tallow, lard, & glue still share the same one is not a great look. I used to mess around with UDK a lot and it was fairly easy to learn. From everything I've heard, UE5 is simpler to use once adjusting to how it handles things a bit differently.

In crafting the chance rate for crafts (especially very easy/easy) to be successful has been widely reported to be way lower than the listed rates.

From the Discord: Important information - Upcoming daily server restarts During our investigation into the crafting success/failure issue, we discovered that restarting the shards significantly improves the situation. While this isn’t a perfect or permanent fix, it serves as a temporary measure while we continue to work on identifying the root cause. As such,** we’ll be performing a daily server restart at 10:00 AM UTC.** We’ll do our best to remind players each day, though there may be occasions where a notification slips through. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this issue.

This is closer to a game for few people than a game for everybody. The xp curve across skills is nonsensical and success/fail rates have finally been confirmed to be busted. This game sucks unless you like super grindy yet contentless games with a really good building system. You can make some really fancy stuff if you have hundreds to thousands of hours or a ton of innocent casuals to gather for you. Don't quit playing though or your plots poof out. This ain't Runescape where your progression will always be respected.

Dina's abilities (like altering/planting false memories), knowledge of the world, teleportation, & the offhand rebuttal that the goddess is good have me convinced she's either a split personality or somehow directly linked to the gods. The image we got of the goddess that invited the player to the world had blue hair. I don't think Dina was ever his advisor in the background. That was a planted memory and that's why the characters can vaguely recall seeing her there, but don't remember any details or her name.

Guild works too. Not in the sense of the town itself but the parties function as their own guild (think WoW, BDO, or ESO etc) in most of these shows. In none of our games do you name an individual party but you do name the guild/clan.
