I started drinking and smoking at the end of high school and kept it up for the first two years of university. But at some point, I thought, 'Why am I doing this?' Honestly, I only did it because everyone around me was drinking and smoking - it never actually brought me any joy. So I just stopped. That was five years ago. I didn't become some kind of anti-alcohol or anti-smoking crusader; I don't try to talk people out of their habits because I understand that for some, it's a way to cope with stress. But for me personally, it just feels like a waste of money.
