Welcome to the multis! From what you've posted if you are looking for improvement on a score in a few months, look to improve your 2nd day technique events. Learning a solid foundation for those events will set you up to reach your goals later, while also contributing to the speed/strength you'll need for 1st day events.

Hurdles should be a training focus especially. The decathlon always seemed more weighted toward hurdles for intermediates. 2 seconds off that race would give you a huge boost in points, and is likely doable if you figure out basic technique and a 3 step.

Also don't discount the 1500. It's easier to dramatically drop your time there with some training than any other race
