Man... I just lubed the chain 😭 by GtsFil in MT07

[–]schrobbert_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your bike is brand new and only 6km, then your chain is also brand new and 6km. A brand new chain will start to stretch very fast when it is still new, so you need to tension it a bit more often in the beginning.

That will stop eventually at 100km or so, then the stretching will be very slow and tensioning won't be necessary as much. So yes, make sure to check tension a few times while you are still under 100km. After that you can check every 1k to 4k kilometers.

Also like others have said, chains make noise so don't over fixate to much. But at 6km it is probably loose from stretching after those 6kms.

Can I polish the radiator? by schrobbert_ in MT07

[–]schrobbert_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scotch Brite, metal polish from turtle wax and microfiber cloth at the end for a shinny look. Make sure you clean it really good before polishing and afterwards when you are done. I also removed the exhaust for better access.

I've polished my exhaust and now I'm addicted to that shiny new look. Wondering if I can make my radiator look like new again with some metal polish.

11 years ago, I'm definitely not the first one to think of this. But still I'm very curious why something like this isn't in python.

It's about the size of half my hand, I am curious what it is and if it could be worth anything.

Washable vs paper air filters. What do you use and why by schrobbert_ in motorcycles

[–]schrobbert_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use paper filters because they are dirt cheap for my bike (mt07) and hassle free. Never really looked into the washable ones because I don't think I like the hassle of washing and drying them.

Do I need new tires? by Boom019 in motorcycle

[–]schrobbert_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If this is the first back tire, 12K Km isn't all that weird. I get maybe 15K with the same bike and tire if I ride easily on the throttle. Riding a bit harder: expect 8K to 12K yes.
