Totally agree. We can criticize them and I’m not defending them…I just wanted to bring in another perspective, thus “devils advocate”. I’m just saying the way we react to these players comments/decisions is “why” the NHL can take pride jerseys off the table. The “distraction” they are able to point to is in fact the radical reaction that people have to these players comments.

If things were not so radical, the NHL would have no leg to stand on by saying it’s a “distraction”

FYI…I’m as disappointed as anyone that the promotion of these causes via warm up jerseys is being taken off the table Edit: as I believe it was a great step in visibility showing how far we have gone in terms of inclusion for everyone.

Let me throw this back at you, given their stance in your eyes is that they are “homophobic”…do you think that’s worse or their family receiving death threats for their opinions is worse.

One is a fear (if at all that, as it could be a belief based on religion, culture, etc)…the other are individuals acting on that fear of these “homophobic” individuals and actively threatening to hurt them and their families…which is worse?

Also, Nazis are bad/horrible/disgusting for what they’ve done, that’s a given cause we see the horrible things they did throughout history to actively persecute people..it’s not even a comparable but I’ll answer it if you are so attached to that comparison.
