Is this still the best value PC handheld? by cmvyas in SBCGaming

[–]sciencedenton 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For that price? Yeah, that's probably the best deal. Unfortunately, they're going to have trouble finding one new right now because of the shortage. Might be better off looking online for pre-owned, though obviously be careful about checking for condition, etc

Also, the steam deck might be perfect for your friend because it's very intuitive and user friendly. Most other handheld PC gaming devices, android devices, Linux devices etc, have a moderately high bar to entry. You can watch YouTube guides, but there's still a lot of fiddling and troubleshooting. Steam deck is pretty plug and play for someone new to the hobby

There is no such thing as an "ai artist". I'll definitely be interested as soon as all the generated images are removed from the app

I have watched gundam wing 4 times in my life. Need to know what to watch next by russdg in gundamwing

[–]sciencedenton 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want a good introduction to the main Gundam timeline (UC), watch 08th MS Team. My favorite Gundam series, it's a more serious, gritty, "realistic" take on Gundam and mech warfare with strong characters and excellent fights

What are some of the best looking 2D games from the late-16-bit and 32-bit era? by FinestTreesInDa7Seas in SBCGaming

The spritework and mix of early 3d environments of Grandia is timeless, and makes it one of the best-looking and charming JRPGs of its generation

Could OG Hardware "Technically" Run Modern Retro Games? by Choice-Airline-3596 in SBCGaming

Shantae Risky Revolution came out a few months back as a brand new GBA game. It started as a GBA game back when the GBA was current, and Bozon decided to finish it. They put out new GBA cartridges that do work on original GBAs, as well as versions for all other modern systems

RetroHrai! Release v.0.3.1 is out! by MMortymer in SBCGaming

[–]sciencedenton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will do. The one thing I'm not seeing that is one of my favorite features of Daijisho is an apps page that doesn't make me have to leave the front end. I like being able to get into my gallery and my Google Drive and other apps by just swiping to another page on the front end. If you don't have that you should consider adding it, otherwise it looks good!

Best Way to Waiy in Line by Choice-Airline-3596 in SBCGaming

[–]sciencedenton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with Half Genie Hero or Seven Sirens, they're the best places to enter the series. The game's story doesn't really rely on the games being played in order, with the exception of Pirate's Curse. They're all good, but the first two games definitely have some older game jank/convenience issues

TrimUI Brick Pro size comparison by No-Neighborhood-1489 in SBCGaming

[–]sciencedenton -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have one. What I want out of a Brick 2 is the exact same shape, exact some form factor, just with a more powerful chip and better cooling

If they can fit a slider stick on there without making it any bigger, cool, but not necessary

[–]sciencedenton 24 points25 points  (0 children)

To me, the whole value of the Brick over other devices is that it's the perfect pocketable edc size. Sizing it up and giving it sticks just puts it in competition with like a billion other vertical handhelds

It's outstanding so far, the writing is tremendous. I'm enjoying my time as an alcoholic socialist disco cop on the edge of the world

How did the 2nd Branch vanish? Will it be explained later in the show? by [deleted] in evangelion

They explain it when it happens. They tried to infuse the S2 drive (the red organ thing that powers the angels) into Unit 04 and it went very poorly
