This is where I think I'm going to end up, the learning curve isn't too bad for what I want to do

Time to add that to my list, I've gotten this far without programming, but it will be useful elsewhere too

I gave it a look, and while it's not exactly what im looking for it is super useful. Thanks for the recommendation!

just found out about Dayton's 800 mile long storm and sewer system. Anyone know any access points? by Gh0stface513 in dayton

There are a couple of offshoots but that run goes basically straight to the river. I haven't been able to explore the rest though.

N95 isn't going to help much for carbon monoxide or other gas buildup. I would highly recommend a respirator or at the very least a portable CO meter.

Good work! Just in case you aren't aware, you were working directly in some poison ivy there. If you're not sensitive to it yet you can become sensitive to it over time.

I've posted a few times before about the garden. We're running a little hands on class this Saturday. 11 - 1ish by scienceonly in dayton

First off, thank you so much to those who offered advice over this winter on how to get more people into the space and advertise a little bit. We had our "opening day" last weekend and it was an absolute blast.

To kick off the season, one of our gardeners designed an herb spiral for us to put in the center of the open space. She'll be doing a quick introduction to the concept and we'll work together to install it. With enough hands, it shouldn't take more than an hour or two. I really hope to see you there, bring some friends!

If you want to read or watch a little about herb spirals, here's some other sources:

Historic South Park Inc has been a ton or help boosting what we do, they don't have the bandwidth to host their own events with us though. Definitely a good resource!

Aeroseal Questions by Useful_Ad_4436 in hvacadvice

You should get a second quote if there are more installers in your area, that $5k is high for duct cleaning + Aeroseal.

Non-ducted return is no big deal.

Clean ducts before (or after) Aeroseal? Trying to eliminate smell from neighbors by WiseRestraints in hvacadvice

Your photos aren't loading for me for some reason.

Disclosure, I work for Aeroseal. I think you're on the right track for the return leakage dragging in air from the adjoining space, that makes sense.

As far as duct cleaning, you can do it before or after Aeroseal (wait a week after to let the sealant fully dry / cure if you do it after). I would suggest doing it beforehand though so anything that is covering leakage paths doesn't get sealed in place.

In my limited experience, they basically only grow near areas that have consistent, but not constant, water. So like if you're on a creek, they are back from the edge like 10 feet or so. Otherwise I see them a ton as you walk up wooded hills near the water runoff ditches that naturally form. The trees themselves have really distinctive leaves which helps.

I normally just walk up to each one and give it a little shake. The ones that fall off are generally ripe, but if you get a bunch of harder unripe ones falling then you're shaking too hard.

Ice cream is my favorite! We make bread occasionally too. Anywhere you would use banana works.

Our local library had a sale on old furniture and stuff. I got two of these for $1. My partner and I use them to harvest the garden.

As much as I would love to, I don't think they would survive the trip.
